CRASH LANDING LOL!

[NAME]

There were times where I was jealous of Octavian's ability to see the future. If I had that power, I would've flat out refused to join in on this quest.

I woke up to us falling, Piper and Jason both screaming their lungs out, and I really didn't blame them.

My fingers clutched onto Festus' back for dear life as we spiraled out of the sky in a free fall. In my panicked state, I managed to tap Leo awake, who had fallen asleep clinging onto my back, which was (thankfully) clear from blood.

The boy looked around frantically when he woke up and yelled in frustration. "Not again! You can't fall again!!"

"Leo what's happening with him?!" Piper yelled over the wind. I could barely keep my eyes open due to the sheer force of the wind, trying to hold my hood and hair down so as to not whip Leo in the face.

I felt Leo start to try and move around me, and I bent down to try and not be in the way, feeling him reach around my waist and opening the control panel, tugging on some wires. I made the risky move to look back at Leo, to see if he had made any progress, but he had a grim look on his face. "Jason!" He shouted. "Grab [Name] and Piper and get out of here!"

Jason blinked. "What?"

"We need to lighten the load!" Leo explained. "I might be able to reboot Festus but he's carrying too much weight!"

"No!" I objected hastily, frantically. "We're not leaving you! What if you can't—"

"Way to positive Fish Face," Leo joked, then he hesitated, his face softening. "I'll be fine. Just follow me to the ground. Go!"

Piper and Jason reluctantly unbuckled their harnesses and flew to my side to get me. I gave Leo one last look before unbuckling my harness, making the impulsive decision to pull him into a tight hug, pulling away just as fast. I tried to convey how sorry I was for yelling at him, just in case worst came to worst, and swallowed hard. "You better be alive for us to follow."

Leo looked stunned, before a smile grew on his face. "Of course, what's Water Girl without her Fire boy?"

Jason grabbed me by the waist and flew off.

I kept a watchful eye on Leo, gathering all my strength to stare. He worked on Festus quickly as they fell at a terminal velocity. After those nightmares, I didn't intend on losing anyone else, much less Leo. We still had a lot to talk about, and I still had to apologize to him so I wanted him alive enough to explain and beg for his forgiveness.

After a few seconds, Festus's lights went back on and he spread his wings. Instead of falling, they were now on a steep glide. They were still flying way too hot, and the ground was too close. Leo needed a place to land-fast.
