After her online class and self-study session, Daisy  glanced at the clock and saw that it was nearly 1 a.m. She turned on her phone and saw a message from Erica, reminding her to have dinner and go to bed on time. Although Daisy had managed to find some time for dinner, it was just rice and fried eggs—simple because cooking wasn't her strong suit. The only thing she could make well was rice.

After organizing her books, Daisy turned off the study lamp and sat in her chair, reading various messages where people shared their problems. She replied to each one, and suddenly noticed a message from Zayn's profile. It was:

"I had no idea that someone's words could impact a person's life so profoundly. Thanks to people like you, folks like us can recognize the true faces of those around us. While I may have lost love, I've found peace from a mental unrest. Though I don't know much about you, I can say that you may be an ordinary person but with an extraordinary heart. Lots of love and thanks. If we ever meet by chance, even if I don't recognize you, my gratitude will never diminish."

Seeing the message brought a smile to Daisy's face. In life, people endure many things, testing their mental stability. Some find support in others during tough times, while others fight alone. Daisy thought about these things as she lay down on her bed.

Even with her eyes closed, she suddenly heard the strumming of a guitar. The sound was unmistakably coming from the adjacent room—Zayn’s room. Daisy and Zayn’s bedrooms were separated by just a wall of brick and cement, but the sound of emotions knows no barriers. Daisy sat up and pressed her ear against the wall. In the quiet of the night, she had no trouble hearing the music from the next room.

In the dark room, with only a dim lamp glowing beside her bed, Daisy leaned against the wall, half-reclining, eyes closed.

After a long time, Zayn had taken out his cherished guitar. Even though he knew it might disturb someone’s sleep, he couldn’t stop himself. During his school days, no one might have known about his irresistible passion for music, but he himself knew it well! Today, for some reason, he felt an overwhelming urge to sing. When sorrow cannot be expressed in words, the melody of a song can help it find freedom.

Zayn sang the song slowly with his eyes closed. The gusts of wind from the open window made the dreamcatcher hanging on the wall sway.

Daisy  listened to the song, eyes closed, leaning against the wall on the other side. When the song ended, she opened her eyes.

"In everyone's life, some words remain hidden forever. Maybe I will move forward in life with a smile, just like you, but the rascal from school days will continue to love you the same way may be. If there is ever a next life, perhaps I will wish to have you once again. You may leave and vanish like a cloud, and I will love the clouds just to shed my own tears! In your comings and goings, I will keep alive those touchable nicknames within me. On every sad night, I will move mountains of vain pain to send you silent letters. They might never reach you. Still…"

Zayn spoke these words with his eyes closed, leaning against the wall, unaware that Daisy  was listening and feeling them on the other side. As Zayn spoke, his eyes filled with tears, but he paid no heed to them. It was a strange understanding he had with himself.

On the other side, Daisy’s heart suddenly ached hearing these words. Perhaps she had never been in Zayn’s exact situation, but she remembered her own experiences.

"Everyone here is suffering in their own way. No one can share another's pain, even if they wanted to. These silent nights are our times for self-reflection. The lack of love, money, or family brings its own kind of sorrow."

Two people, sitting on opposite sides of the same wall, eyes closed, tears in both their eyes. Perhaps this was the rain of emotions on the barren lands of their lives. Even if the sky sings songs of rain, the melody carries the tune of this melancholic heart.
