The air was very humid the next day. Even when the fog was really dense, the sun found a way through it.
At the university, there were busy students everywhere again. As the final days came closer, it seemed like the campus was getting more active...

Just like yesterday, Orihara sat in the campus' garden. Enjoying her break, she drew a wooden pavillion from a few metres away.
This pavillion had a legend: It was told that it was originally built as a small shrine, but even there was nothing around it that would indicate so, people have been saying that the guardians are still there.
That's why the pavillion never got teared down, probably.

Just as the artist was about to draw some silly ghosts on her art, Ado showed up and sat down next to her. "Hiya." "Hey." "What are you drawing?" "The pavillion." Orihara paused. "Do you think the legend's true?" "Hm... I'm unsure. We should check it out one day." Ado's eyes lit up. "Why don't we do it now?" "But... my drawing..." "Aren't you done with it?" "No, I... well... I guess it can wait."

Orihara set her notebook aside and then followed Ado towards the pavillion. "It's quite dark compared to the outside. Scary..." "Kinda... Hey, Ado?" "Hm?" "What if we spend our breaks here? It's safe from rain and nobody's here anyway-"

"What do you mean 'nobody's here', ha?"
The two girls jumped. Appearantly, someone else was here too. The stranger revealed themself: A familiar rebel with blue hair. Only a shotgun would be missing now...
"Oh, it's just Naima." Orihara exhaled in relief. "Am I nobody, or what??" "Sorry, didn't see you... It's pretty dark here." "Whatever- Why did you two come into my hideout, huh?" "Well Ado here" - with that, Orihara pointed at Ado, who literally clinged to her arm because she got scared - "wanted to check out the pavillion if the legend was true." "The legend about the shrine guardians? That's just a myth to keep people away. Originally, this was a hangout spot for the freaks of the campus, but now..." "It's just you?" "But that doesn't make me a freak, got that?!"
Naima looked up to the ceiling. "I'm just missing the old times. I want to be a kid again..." Orihara and Ado exchanged looks. If they weren't her age, they'd probably shake their head and tell her to stop with this nonsense. But she had a point: Everything's been really busy nowadays, every hour seemed to be rush hour.
Ado was the first one to speak. "Loneliness catches up sooner than you think. So... I think it'd be pretty cool to have two more people in your hideout, hm?" Naima nodded. "Yep, would be nice... Wait, are you two waiting for my approval to spend your breaks here?" "... Pretty much." "Mmm... Alright. But don't tell the others about that, yeah?" "I promise!" Ado extended her pinky towards Naima.
It's a pinky promise then.

"Which course are you participating in, actually?" "Oh, I'm actually a major in history... I like the past." Ado somehow struck a conversation with the pavillion's guard, whilst Orihara was finishing her piece of art. A floating Naima above the pavillion. Just then, mentioned person spoke up at her. "Orihara, are you an artist?" "Of course. I'm doing major in graphic design. Here, take a look."
The artist showed her drawing.
"Woah... That's pretty good." "Thanks a lot. I've been practicing since... I don't know, since I started going to uni here?" "That's a pretty long time then." Naima looked at her watch. "Oh, shit. I'll see you two later, I'm running late for my lecture!" Just then, the rebel stormed out of the pavillion.

"She's a cool girl." Ado stated. Orihara nodded. "But say, what do you want to do for our final project now?" "Oh, right! I thought about doing something like an album..." "Music?" "Yeah, how did you know?" "I didn't." Orihara grinned. "I just could've guessed because your voice is really pretty." "You're making me blush...!" "Haha, sorry. An album, you say? Should I draw all the cover art, then?" "Yep, that's the thing I thought for you. I mean... I kind of envy your skill..."
The two laughed. "Okay, I have to say that's an amazing idea. Should I tell it my teacher later?" Ado nodded. "That'd be nice."
Orihara and her friend stayed a little silent after, just looking up at the pavillion's ceiling. On some spots, it seemed like there was something carved into the wood.

Ado leaned against the artist. "I'm still so glad I have you." Orihara's heartbeat sped up a little again. Oh, the lesbianism... "Really, it's nothing. If you wouldn't have spoken to me... I'm pretty sure I'd be sitting outside now and drawing alone. I should actually thank you." "That's true. I'm proud of myself, then. You know, I'm more of a lone wolf." "Huh? Don't you have other friends?" "Well... not really. I'm sorry, I lied to you yesterday. You're probably the first friend I've made since I turned 18..."

Wow, that was a confession. "It's okay, I'm not mad at you. People tend to lie when they feel like there's no other option... Maybe you thought I'd treat you differently?" "Most likely that." Ado closed her eyes. "God damnit, I really want to stay like this forever. Aarggh... It's only the break..." Orihara had to laugh again. "You know, we can meet up at the end of the day again?" "That's a genius idea..." "Sometimes I really wonder how you got into this university." "Hey!"

And so the break continued on. But as time passes, moments had to end. So the two parted ways again, going to their lectures. Both full with energy and happiness; after all, they made a new friend! And Naima really seemed like she'd be a really loyal friend. 𝙰𝚕𝚕 𝚐𝚘𝚘𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚎𝚎.
