The second you were both through, thankfully behind one of the campus buildings, away from prying eyes, you spun around and summoned your magic to seal it with a protection spell. This way, Strange and his better half wouldn't be able to manipulate or even touch this reality. Wanda stood aside and watched you do it before she summoned her own and you felt the world shift beneath your feet. At first, you thought she was turning the time back so that nobody would know the two of you had gone missing, but once you took a moment to absorb the change, you realized she opened the world to more than just university and you smiled over at her while tears pricked at your eyes.
To be honest, this whole thing has been a whirlwind of craziness, and anyone would be a straight fool to not have this pull at their emotions and you were a gay smartass, so it was a ride from hell, that's for sure. But in the end, no matter what you could still both do or couldn't do, this was your world, your reality, and you were always happy here. Your entire sense of self stemmed from this place and now you could have a future outside of it without the looming threat of missions or avengers or their too tight suits.
"It's going to be weird," She started as the two of you walked around to the main campus, "Being back here and knowing what we do, but nobody else has a clue."
"We'll worry about that later," You waved it off after a moment when you spotted someone across the way, so your smile turned into a smirk, "Maybe you should go hug your less attractive twin, though."
Her grinned widened and you smiled softly before she turned towards where you had been looking.
"Pietro!" She shouted, jogging towards him excitedly and he seemed confused, but happily took her hug when she opened her arms to him.
You bowed your head with a smile before you headed back to the dorms, wanting some reunion hugs for yourself, and you weren't disappointed when Darcy slammed into you the second you opened the door, making you stumble back into the hall until you hit the wall.
"Darce!" You laughed and she hugged you tighter before pinching the side of your hip, hard, "Ow! Hey, what the fuck?"
"Had to make sure you were real," She gasped a breath before continuing, "I saw you," She pulled back, her frantic eyes searching yours behind her glasses, "I saw you that night and then you just – oh my god, what day is it??"
"Um," You pulled out your phone, just catching as it went back weeks, and you realized Wanda had changed the time too, which made sense, "It's Wednesday, the fourth."
"No, no, no!" She pushed her frames up her nose, and you realized she had heavy bags under her eyes, her hair was disheveled, and since you knew her, she probably hadn't showered in a while, "It wasn't – Thor said the same thing when I just texted him and he asked if I was feeling okay, but I know something happened!" Her voice was rising in volume, so you gently guided her back inside the room before shutting the door behind you, "You were gone!"
She was sitting on the desk chair now and you wheeled yours over to face her, your knees touching as you took her hands. You debated whether you should lie to your best friend and try to maintain her sanity or spill it all and hope she believes the craziness, not only that, but hope she also keeps it to herself.
"Don't lie to me." She warned as if she could read your mind and you sighed defeatedly.
"Do you..." You trailed off and she raised her eyebrows, so you took a deep breath before trying again, deciding to just dive right in, "Do you believe in the multiverse?"
"And all its madness? Hell yeah, you know, I'm something of a scientist myself."
"Well, I have a hell of a story for you." You raised your eyebrows quickly and took another deep breath before beginning.
