The rest of the world is at a loss as...
Over three hundred million people, including the President of the United States and the Avengers, are being held captive in their own country by two women who go by the names of Y/n L/n and Wanda Maximoff.
Wanda Maximoff and her brother Pietro are immigrants from the country of Sokovia where they were born before moving to the states almost a decade ago. Their parents are currently living in Pennsylvania, the last we heard, but no one's been able to contact them since the country went completely dark.
Y/n L/n didn't technically exist until she started going to this university, no record of any existing parents or relatives. We know very little about the twenty-one year old university student who seems to possess the kind of ability to help Maximoff shut down an entire country with little resistance – maybe one of them has had practice.
It started with one university's town being under investigation as no one could enter or exit the entire area, SHIELD had gone in to investigate as they had lost nearly all their heroes, few remained on the list, and Spiderman was one of the ones trying to help – but he doesn't possess the capability of getting ahead of this, it seems.
Canada's Prime Minister assures that the neighboring country isn't under the same possible terrorist attack, and we will hear from him now as we go to his press conference.

"Hello, and thank you for coming," He starts, already looking frazzled, but as composed as anyone would be in this situation, and people can tell he cares for his home country because there's clear fear in his eyes that they'll be next, "We don't know a lot about what is happening further south of Canada in the States, but we're doing everything we can to investigate and solve this problem as quickly as possible. Their FBI, CIA, and other organizations like SHIELD have been dark in communications – cut off, and the American citizens who happened to be out of country at the time of the full attack, including New York's friendly neighborhood Spiderman, have been welcomed into Canada for safety until we can figure this all out," He cleared his throat, looking the camera straight on as he disregarded his notes now, "Y/n L/n and Wanda Maximoff, if you're listening, please, stop whatever you're doing, let these people go, and if no one gets hurt, we will be lenient on your sentencing because this is like nothing we've ever seen before."
Someone came up to whisper something to him, passing him a piece of paper as they did, and he took it, his jaw clenching while his face paled.
"I've just been informed that while the Avengers have been pulled into this mess, their...ages seem to have been changed to be between eighteen and twenty-five years old," He swallowed thickly and even through a television screen, anyone could tell he was sweating profusely, "I don't know how that's possible, but the rest of the world is watching and we're waiting for you to give an opening that we will take, no matter what. Let your guard down even for a second and we'll move in."
Days after the press conference, many leaders of the world have gathered at the UN in Geneva to discuss further actions to be taken and it has brought together some of the most controversial of enemies, deflating the tension temporarily as they focus on a mutual fight.
"The States are down!" China's President yells angrily, their economy and people feeling the loss more than most, "We can't just sit on our hands and wait like the Prime Minister requested – something needs to be done now, we need action, not words!"
"Permission to speak freely," India's President requests through his translator and the rest give hesitant agreements, "Thank you. Now, while Trudeau's words attempted comfort with a mild threat to these terrorists, don't you all agree that placing our soldiers at the line of their border is dangerous? Look at what we've been dealing with since the attack on New York in twenty twelve – also, in the States, might I add," He gave a small shrug and there were murmurs, but he continued, "We're leaving ourselves vulnerable – look at Obrado, Mexico's leader is floundering since he offered his best men to this cause. Let us not make the same mistake."
"It is true," Obrado agreed solemnly, "It was a mistake to sacrifice so much, and my country is suffering for it."
"So, what're you suggesting, Ram?" Putin, Russia's leader, spoke up, leaning back in his seat with a cocked eyebrow, his demeanor relaxed as he eyed India's President curiously.
"That maybe we let them and their stronger allies deal with it." He told them bluntly and this erupted the room into arguments – some agreeing for the sake of their country's safety and stability while some were calling that a heartless move.
"We need to find a compromise." President Bolsonaro piped in the loudest, sounding more levelheaded than many right now.
Reporting outside of the UN meeting, this is Stanley Favreau with Marvello News. It has been three hours since the meeting had finally begun, getting every leader inside to this location quickly and safely has been no easy feat, but now that they're in here, many reports are flowing out. It only took Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, less than an hour before his shirt was lost in a heated argument with Germany's Chancellor, and that earned a round of groans. Apparently, Rodrigo Duterte, won the bet over twenty of them had going about how long that would take. It is unsure of what their plans moving forward with the attack on the United States are and we have no doubt this meeting will take much more time before a conclusion is made for the steps moving forward.
