Adelia step out onto the ice and breathe reminding herself of Who she is skating for. She is skating for God.
The music begins to play. She is skating to James by Alabaster Co and Shawn Halim.
She begins to glide on the ice and lose herself in the music. She waits for the music to escalate and then she pulls a triple axel landing it and thanking God.
Adelia has been working on landing that move for weeks.
She dances letting each move glorify God. Without worrying about messing up and letting the Spirit guide her. She finishes her routine with a smile thanking God.
As Adelia looks up she lock eyes with a boy. His eyes are pretty but that's not what pulls her in. There's an emotion in his eyes that she can't explain.
She skates off the ice trying to distract herself from the thought of him.
I'm in my isolation season and I don't need a boy distracting me from my journey with Jesus.
Just when she thinks that she hears a voice in my her head say "Only God knows what you need."
She thanks God for reminding her and puts on her blade covers and heads to the locker room.
"God, please give me guidance" she prays putting on her sweatshirt and heading out to watch the rest of the performances.
After the performances are over she takes off her sweatshirt and her blade covers as they call out the scores. She looks up again and sees him. It's like her eyes found him without even trying.
He's cute, like really cute. He has dark brown hair and green eyes. He looks at me and I look away glancing beside him realizing that he's sitting next to my brother.
He must be the friend my brother was talking about. Adelia was so caught up in her thoughts that she didn't realize that her name was being called until her coach shook her.
"You won" she screams happily.
Adelia smiles and skates to the podium. "Thank you, God," she says stepping up on the podium. She smiles as they put the medal on her and for the pictures.
This means that she's going to the semifinals. She steps off the podium and skates back to the locker room to get change not being able to keep the smile off her face.
She loves skating and loves spreading the Gospel through skating even more. Most of the songs that Adelia skates to are worship songs unless shes skating classical.
But then even her classical music is Christian. She tends to skate to alabaster co songs that are based off the books of the Bible.
Adelia gets back changed into her regular clothes and grabs her bag heading out to meet her family.
Shes see her mom and runs up to her hugging her.
"You did so good baby," she said smiling and hugging her daughter back.
"Thank you Mom but it wasn't me it was Christ in me," she says not wanting to take credit from God.
Her brother comes up to her hugging her too. Adelia hugs him back and pulls away. "For Jesus and you," her brother says handing her a bouquet.
"Thank you," she says looking beside him seeing the boy from earlier.
"Hey, you must be James' friend who the ticket was for," she says.
"Yes, hi I'm Callum," he says holding out his hand for her to shake. She giggles taking his hand and says " I'm Adelia" her eyes finding his.
"Nice to meet you, Adelia," he says smiling. He has a nice smile too. She pulls her hand away remembering where she was.
"Are you ready to go?" She asks her mom. "Yes, James go pull the car up please," her mom says handing him the keys and walking to the door with him.
Adelia hears someone call her name and looks around and sees her coach with her phone.
"I'll be right back she has my phone," she say to Callum. He smiles and nods and she walks off.
Adelia grabs her phone and thanks her. She quickly go through her notifications when she hear laughing and looks up.
Her smile falls when she sees her old friends laughing and planning to hang out together. They look over at me and get quiet.
"Adelia hey," Layla says smiling awkwardly.
"You guys are celebrating together?" She asks feeling like an outsider.
"Yeah we were going to invite you but..." she trails off looking beside Adelia. She follows Layla's eyes and sees Callum standing beside her .
"Hey are you ready did you get your phone," he says. "Yes," she says looking up at him not sure about which question she just answered.
She doesn't think he cares though because he takes her bag off her shoulder and starts to walk away. He pauses and looks at her.
She realizes that he's trying to put a stop to an awkward moment so she says goodbye to her old friends and walks away with him.
"Hey, you didn't have to do that," she says grabbing his arm and stopping him. "I wanted to, I saw how you were looking at them, "he says looking down at her.
"And how was I looking at them?" She asks putting her hands on her hips.
"Hurt" he says shocking her.
"I was fine, it was fine, things have just been awkward between us since I've been in my season of isolation" she says dropping her hands from her hips.
"Your season of isolation?" He asks raising his eyebrows.
"Yes, you know when God removes certain people from your life and then puts new people in your life,"she says.
"How do you know that I'm not one of those new people and that He didn't send me to help you" he says looking down at her before walking away.
She stares after him thinking about what he just said.

Hey if anyone like classical music. Alabaster co has really good classical music based off of the books of the Bible. Also a triple axel is one of the hardest jumps to land in figures skating and a quad axel has only been landed by one person.
Love you.
