Adelia wakes up to noise coming from downstairs. She closes her eyes and puts her head under her blanket. She sighs taking the blanket off her head and sits up.
"Thank you, God, for waking me up today."
She does her morning bible study and says her morning prayer.
"Good morning God I want to thank you for waking me and my family up this morning. I ask that you give us this day our daily bread and let your will be done in our lives and on earth as it is in Heaven. In Jesus name, I pray amen."
After she finishes her Bible study. She throws on her pajama pants and a black zip-up hoodie. She steps into her slippers grabs her phone and heads downstairs.
As she's walking down the stairs, she feels eyes on her and looks up and sees Callum.
"What are you doing here."
"Hey Callum it's so nice to see you again," he says.
"Hey Callum sorry I'm working on my filter."
"It's fine. And to answer your question I am playing video games with your brother."
"And losing terribly might I add," James said walking in with snacks. Adelia looks at what he has and realizes that he has her popcorn.
"Why do you have my popcorn?" She asks him staring him down. His eyes go wide when he realizes.
"Sharing is caring," he says standing up and beginning to walk away.
"Not when mom bought you your snacks," she says going to grab the bag and he lifted it over her head.
"That's not funny," I say jumping up to get it. "James." He tosses it over her head to Callum. Adelia looks at Callum and points at him.
"Don't do it" she says walking towards him. He smiles and tosses it back to James over her head.
She pouts and puts her hands on her hips as they toss it over her head. It lands in Callum's hands again and she looks at him.
He pauses and brings it to her. Adelia smiles and takes it from his hands.
"What man come on. Are you serious" James whines.
"Let's just play before we have to go," Callum says sitting down and grabbing the controller.
"Fine."
"Where are you going" Adelia says sitting down on the arm of the couch.
"We're going to the rink for some training at 12 pm."
"Cool, I'll go too."
"Did I invite you?" Her brother says.
"Did I invite you?" Adelia says mocking him. "You're so annoying," he says.
"Pot meet kettle," she says turning to find Callum staring. "What are you staring at" Adelia and James say at the same time. They look at each other in disgust.
"Eww," she shudders immediately getting up and going to stand behind Callum's chair leaning on the back of it.
"You too always bicker like that?"
"I suppose," she says leaning on her arms. Callum looks up at her amused and she looks back down at him. He has a little bit of yellow in his eyes. She quickly jumps up when she realizes how close they were.
Adelia went to go sit on the couch until it was 11 and then she went to get ready and threw on a basic outfit.
She puts on a pair of baggy jeans, a white tee shirt, a grey sweatshirt, and a pair of Air Forces. She grabs her bag and heads downstairs.
"Why are you two still sitting down come on it's almost 11:45." They both checked the time then jumped up rushing and grabbing their stuff.
"I'll drive come on," Callum says opening the front door for her.
"Thank you," she says walking to his truck. He opens the door for Adelia and holds out his hand to help her in. She takes his hand and gets in. He closes the door for her and then walks to the driver's side and gets in.
James gets in and Callum drives them to the rink. Adelia goes to get out but Callum stops her and opens the door for her and helps her out.
"You're really a gentleman aren't you?"
"I try." She smiles at him and they walk into the rink.
The boys leave to go get changed in the locker room.
Adelia sits down, puts her headphones in, opens up the Bible app on her phone to Mark 5, and read from verses 25-34.
She reads about how the woman's faith was so strong that all she knew needed to do was touch Jesus' clothes and she would be healed.
Her favorite thing that Jesus said in these verses was "Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague." Her faith made her whole.
Adelia was thinking over that verse when she heard a boom. She looks up to see someone get slammed against the glass. She takes out her headphones and hears the coach at the rink telling number 15 to sit out.
Adelia realizes that was Callum when she sees him stepping off the ice. He takes off his helmet and sits down on the bench.
She gets up and goes to sit beside him. "You good?" She asks looking at him.
"Mhm." Adelia notices that his fist were clenched.
"You wanna talk about it."
"I'm good Adelia." "Then why are you making a fist." He looks down and sighs unclenching his hands and rubbing them on his thighs.
"I've had a lot on my mind lately."
"What's been on your mind."
"The last thing I need is you judging me." "No judgment from me," she says turning to look at him.
"I've done things in my life that I don't know how to come back from. I've been reading my Bible and praying for God to guide me but I just don't know if it's working."
"God does everything with intention. He knows what He wants for us and how He is going to get us there. We may not see God working but He is working for the good of those who love Him. We just have to trust in His plan for us" she says feeling the Holy Spirit guide her."Easy for you to say," he says looking at her.
"It's not easy at all but who said it ever was? It's something that I tend to struggle with every now and then but when I feel my trust lacking in God's plan I ask Him to help strengthen my faith."
"And He does?."
"Yeah, I really think He does. Just give it all to God. The Bible says to give all of our cares to God because He cares for us. And as for those things you did and don't know how to come back from I recommend reading Acts."
"What's in Acts."
"It tells about Paul someone who Jesus redeemed."
"I'll try reading it. Thank you for listening and not judging" he says looking at his hands.
"Of course, if you need to talk to someone you can talk to me but I recommend talking to our Father in Heaven. He wants us to come to Him and He can give you way better advice than I can."
"Ok," he says smiling and nodding.
"Ok," Adelia says smiling back. They look at each other for a minute staring into each other's eyes before they look away. "Want to listen to some worship music?" she asks holding out a headphone to him.
"Sure," he says taking it and putting it in his ear. Adelia plays Evergreen by Gable Price and Friends. They just sit there listening enjoying each other's company.
