I really can't believe that they didn't make room for her trophies. The thought was on his mind for the whole dinner.
After we finished dinner Adelia brought some of her trophies downstairs and her mom put them up. They talked for a bit before it got late and Callum got ready to go home.
"It's getting late I should head home" he says getting up and grabbing his stuff.
James and their mom says goodbye but Adelia says "I'll walk you out."
Adelia gets up and walks him out. Callum goes to walk off the porch when she grabs his arm and stops him.
He looks at her "what's wrong?"
"Nothing I just wanted to say thank you again for speaking up for me."
"Of course but you don't have to thank me."
"Yes I do and it really meant a lot" she says gazing into his eyes.
He nods and smiles looking down into her eyes. "Is it always like that James being the center of every conversation."
"Yeah usually but it's been getting better."
"Im sorry that you have to go through that. I can't imagine what it's like."
"It's fine I have God to get me through it."
"And he does?" Callum asks curiously.
"Every time He has never failed me and never will" she answers smiling.
"You really love Him don't you?" He asks.
"I do."
"I can tell your whole face lights up when you talk about him."
A smile grows on her face "really?" She asks.
"Yeah" he nods.
"I love that" she's says beaming.
"I love seeing it. It makes you even more beautiful than you already are."
She stills shocked at what he just said. She starts to blush and she turns her head to look away from him trying to fight her smile.
He smiles walking to his car "I'll see you around Adelia."
"Yep see you" she says still flustered waving and walking back into her house.
Callum gets in his car and drives off to his house.
He pull into my driveway and get out of my car grabbing the bag of leftovers James' mom gave me.He heads into the house after unlocking the door and seeing his family on the couch watching TV.
"What do you have it smells good," his dad says getting up and walking to him. "Hey to you too," he says.
"Hey, what's in the bag," his dad says. "James' mom gave me leftovers from the dinner there's enough for y'all," Callum says handing him the bag.
Callum's dad takes the bag to the kitchen and fixes him some to eat.
"Did y'all not eat dinner?" Callum asks his mom. "We did your dad skip lunch and he's making up for it."
"So how was the dinner" Adriana asks him. "It was ok," he said leaning on the back of the couch and looking at the TV.
"Just ok, did something happen," his mom asks him looking concerned. "Not really just had a bit of a situation but it got fixed," he said not wanting to spread another's family business.
"I'm going to head to bed good night love y'all," he says walking to the stairs.
"Good night love you too" he heard behind me from his family. Callum heads up to his room and takes off his jacket hanging it up.
