Adelia
Adelia wakes up to her alarm going off at 8 am. She thanks God for waking her up this morning and says her morning prayer asking for God to give her what she needs today.
She sits up and read a chapter of Hebrews and studies it taking down notes. Then she reads her daily devotional, gets up, and does her morning routine. After she gets dressed in leggings and a thermal heads downstairs with my training bag.
She walks into the living room and sees James and Callum lying on the couch and floor. Callum has been coming over to their house a lot these past few weeks.
Adelia feelings for Callum seem to grow more every time she's around him. But she doesn't think that she should even be having these feelings for him.
He's hers brother's friend and he's in college. She doesn't even know if he sees her that way. Adelia heads into the kitchen and begins making a spinach omelet.
She hears footsteps behind her and turn to see Callum standing there rubbing his eyes.
"Good morning," she says turning back to the stove. "Good morning, what are you making" he says leaning against the counter.
"Spinach omelet do you want one?" "Yes please," he says.
After Adelia finishes hers she begins making him one too. As she is making his omelet she feels someone staring at the side of her face. She looks at him and raises her eyebrows. "What is it" she asks him.
"You're really beautiful you know that right?"
Adelia pauses and blushes. She tries to hold back her smile but it's a struggle.
Lord, please help me.
"Thank you but you can't keep saying things like that," she says putting his omelet on a plate and moving to put the ingredients back up.
"Why not?" He questions.
"Because you're my brother's friend."
"What does me being friends with your brother have to do with me calling you beautiful?"
"It has a lot to do with it," she says turning to look at him.
"I think you're beautiful so I called you beautiful what's wrong with that?" he asks stepping closer to her.
"Nothing if you weren't friends with my brother and why are you so bold today" she says taking a couple of steps back.
"Is it bold to compliment a friend who I think is beautiful" he sighs at her when she doesn't respond.
"I'm not quiet with what I think Adelia. Why does it bother you so much and the whole truth please?" he asks looking down at her.
"Because I don't need you making me like you," she says looking down. Even more than she already does. She feels him lift her head by her chin.
She looks up at him and into his eyes.
Jesus, please give me strength.
"What's so bad about liking me" he says looking back into her eyes. "Because you're you."
His hand drops from her chin and he steps back going to walk away nodding his head.
"Wait," she says grabbing his wrist and pulling him back to her. "I didn't mean that how it sounded."
"Then how did you mean it" he says turning his head to look at her.
"I meant that you're friends with my brother, in college, and you're going back to school after winter break. I can't like you and it's not like you like me either so just refrain from saying stuff like that."
