Today was my first day at Arsenal. I moved from man city deciding I wanted to move to get more playing time and I wanted to progress as a player and I felt i wouldn't be able to if I stayed. It was hard leaving a club that I had been at for 5 years but it was a new chapter in my life and I was excited.
Training went well and Beth decided to throw a party at her and vivs apartment tonight to celebrate me joining ing the team. I've known Beth ever since I was young, we went through the group stages at England together but because I haven't been getting playing time I haven't been called up to the senior squad yet.
I got home after training, deciding to make a quick dinner before going to my wardrobe to choose what to wear tonight. All of the girls on the team were coming to welcome me as Beth told me earlier. I was nervous but I met all of the girls today and they were all so friendly so that eased my nerves slightly.
I decided to wear a white cropped top and black, fitted suit trousers. I know it's pretty basic but I didn't really know the dress code and figured the outfit was a safe choice to go with. By the time i showered, dried and styled my hair, put in some light makeup and got changed it was time to leave. I called a taxi and it arrived in a few minutes. It didn't take long to get to Beth's as we lived quite close to each other.
I got out of the taxi when I arrived, paying and thanking the driver before making my way to the door and knocking, already hearing the music blaring from the other side. I was surprised it hasn't been reported by Beth's neighbors yet.
The door swung open revealing an already drunk looking Beth
"Yayy come in, everyone's basically here" she said in here cheery voice which had been amplified by the alcohol she had consumed. She dragged me into the kitchen, I tried to say hello to the girls who just laughed at Beth's antics, i guessed they were used to them by now.
She poured me a very strong looking vodka coke but I had no complaints, i needed something to get rid of the anxiety I was feeling. I didn't really like party's, usually opting to avoid them but i couldn't really avoid this one as it was dedicated to welcoming me into the team so instead I took 3 big gulps of the drink Beth made me, the vodka instantly burning my throat.
We made our way back into the living room which was full of my new teammates. The sofa was practically full the only space left was between Leah and Caitlin. Beth told me to sit there while she occupied the space on her girlfriends lap instead.
Katie suggested a game of truth or dare which everyone happily agreed to.
"Let's start with the newbie, truth or dare y/n" Katie said with a smirk, her eyes landing on mine
"Dare" I said before taking a big sip of my drink having a feeling I would need to be drunk to get through this game
"Kiss the person who you think is the most attractive" she said before laughing
A chorus of "ooohhhhss" could be heard after her question and I could feel my face heating up. No matter how much I wanted to I don't think there was a way of getting out of this so I scanned the room. My eyes landed on the blonde sat next to me and I saw her swallow as she realized what was about to happen. The vodka was obviously working because I leaned forward, placing my hand on her cheek and pulling her face down so her lips met my own. It was quick but I couldn't help feeling like fireworks went off in my stomach as soon as our lips connected. I could tell by her eyes that she was shocked by my action but her smirk told me she didn't mind it.
The game carried on, Katie and Beth asking more stupid questions causing everyone to laugh but my thoughts were somewhere else or should I say on someone else. I couldn't get those blue eyes out of my mind.
I decided to stand up and head into the kitchen, getting myself a new drink before making my out to the balcony to get some well needed fresh air. That kiss had really screwed with my head, I had literally just met the girl and now I can't get her out of my head.
I leaned on the railing of the balcony, my eyes drawn to the stars which I was surprised I could see. It must be a really clear night.
As I was taking another sip of my less strong drink I heard the sliding door open and close and then noticed Leah was standing next to me, I glanced towards her giving her a smile before returning my eyes to the stars.
"Are you okay?" She asked, her eyes following mine to the sky above us
"Yeah I just needed a bit of fresh air, that game was getting a bit intense" i say chuckling causing her to do the same.
"Yeah that's Beth and Katie for you" she said, her hand slowly making its way over to mine on the railing.
"You think I'm attractive huh?" She asked after a few seconds of silence and I could hear the smirk on her face without having to look at it
"Maybe or I just didn't want to stand up, you were sat the closest to me so it was easy to pick you" i said a smirk mirroring hers made it's way onto my face as our fingers intertwined with each other's.
She laughed at my obvious lie, of course I found her attractive who wouldn't.
I turned around so my back was resting on the railing and Leah moved to stand in front of me, her hands resting either side of me. Our faces were inches apart. I could smell the alcohol on her breath, her probably thinking the same.
The same fireworks I felt earlier made their way back into my stomach when her hands settled on my waist.
Our moment was interrupted by Beth who flung open the door demanding we come back in to take shots with her and Katie. Me and Leah jumped away from each other, both our faces turning a shade of pink causing Beth to laugh.
"Shut up" i muttered smiling at Beth as we followed her into the kitchen where we were greeted by a number of full shot glasses which we slowly decreasing as Katie knocked 3 back, one after another, showing little discomfort. Before she necked them all me and Leah picked one up, following Katie's actions, we swallowed them.
I was excited to start this new chapter of my life and I was looking forward to seeing where mine and Leah's relationship was going.
