Meeting

They were soon at Basgiath. Alex was now sitting in Xaden's room with Garrick, Bodhi, and Imogen.

"How would have the General suspect?" Garrick asked. Xaden was pacing the floor. Bodhi and Alex sat on his bed. Imogen was leaning against the wall. Her eyes land on the General's daughter.

"Why not we ask his precious daughter?" Imogen said. Alex glared at her.

"I didn't say anything to him and why would I? I hate him as much as you all do for what he did to your families." Alex snapped.

"I saw what he does to his own flesh and blood when we were gone. He might have almost killed her if we didn't show up." Xaden said.

"Why?" Garrick asked, looking at Alex.

"Because I embarrassed him at the party and I'm seeing a Marked One." Alex said. Garrick ran a hand through his black hair.

"You sure you didn't talk of any of this?" Xaden asked. Bodhi and Alex shook their heads.

"I never even talked to the General when there." Bodhi said. Xaden sighed.

"Then there was a leak or something. The wards faltered." Xaden said. Alex bit her lip. "I don't blame you for any of this Alex. I can see why you hate your father." Alex gave a weak smile. "We need to be careful right now with what we say and do for a bit to let things calm down." Garrick didn't argue. Imogen left without a word.

"They won't be happy." Garrick said.

"I know, but we can't risk it now that the General was attacked. We will be watched." Xaden said.

Alex headed to her room. Bodhi had stayed behind to talk to Xaden.

"Alex." Alex looked and saw Rhiannon and Violet heading her way. "You guys alright? We heard what happened."

"Yeah. We got out of there before they got close." Alex said.

"Why would they attack?" Violet asked. Alex shrugged.

"Your guess is good as mine." Alex said. Violet hugged Alex.

"We're glad your alright. They said you were on your way back." Rhiannon said.

"General Melgren ordered us to get out of there." Alex said. Rhiannon and Violet share looks as they head to their rooms.

"Where's Bodhi?" Violet asked.

"He's talking to Xaden." Alex said.

"I'm right here." Alex turned and smiled as Bodhi comes up and pulls Alex into a kiss. Violet and Rhiannon smiled. "Hi ladies."

"How did your father react to you with Bodhi?" Violet asked.

"He nearly beat her and would try and kill her." Bodhi said.

"Azar got word to Cuir and Sgaeyl and Xaden wrapped him in his shadows to stop him." Alex said. Violet shook her head.

"Your father is a piece of work" Rhiannon said.

"Its why my grandfather practically raised me." Alex said. The girls go to their rooms. Bodhi follows Alex into her room and closes the door behind her. Bodhi leaned against the door. Alex turned to him.

"I'm sorry about your home." Bodhi said. Alex came over and wrapped her arms around his neck. His hands found her hips.

"It was never my home after my grandfather died. My home is where ever you are." Alex said. Bodhi kissed her with a passion that made Alex's toes curl in her shoes. They forgot what happened at the Melgren mansion and enjoyed each other.
