“I’ll beat them up so badly…” I said to myself in a strong willed tone.
“You’re fired up, eh?” Gakushu said to me.
We were walking to school together, nothing new. It was a ball game tournament that day.
“Good to see you in high spirits and ready for the game.” He smiles at me.
“I always feel energy flowing through me when I think about a competition.” My voice was electrified.
“Right, I know that already. I’ll also do whatever is needed to win the baseball match today.”
“Let’s give our best and whosoever does better will treat the other to yakisoba.”
“Make it takoyaki.”

The game was almost over and our team’s score was not even half of the other team’s. I managed to snatch the ball from a girl on the other team. I dribbled halfway through the court then passed to Kayano. She got blocked by another girl. I got behind that girl and asked for her to pass to me. She threw it towards me but that same girl got in the way. I tried to catch the ball but my foot slipped and I ended up on the floor with a sprained ankle..

“Get well soon, Y/N san.” Okuda said to me.“Yeah, thanks. I guess we lost badly.” I said to the girls who had gathered around me in the nurse’s room.
“We’ll have better luck in the sports festival.” Came from Hara.
A knock on the door and Gakushu entered the room. “Y/N? I heard from Ren about what happened.”
The girls glared at him. Why wouldn’t they? He might be nice to me because of our chemistry but was still rude to the other E-class students.
“I’d like a friend-to-friend talk withY/N,... alone.” He gave a signal to them to leave us both alone.
He did not like anyone else's presence when talking to me with his guard down, so I could understand why he wanted them to leave.
“See you later, Y/N!” Reo said high spiritedly. And the girls left me alone with Gakushu.
He took a seat near the bed I was sitting on. “So, Ren told me about your sprain. How is it? Too bad?”
“Nothing to worry about. I’ll be healed up in almost a week, the nurse told me.”
“That’s good. Don’t forget, you’ll be treating me to takoyaki later on.”
“Your team won? That’s great for you but not for my pocket money.”
“Haha… Anyways, it's already 4PM so how are you going to get home?”
“It's not much of an issue. My foot doesn't hurt much so I can probably walk.”
I got off the bed and stood up, even though my right foot, the injured one, was not completely on the ground. I brought my left foot forward to show Gakushu I could still walk but I winced in pain when my right foot was completely on the ground. My stimuli acted, I placed my right foot in the air and lost balance because I was not holding on to anything.
Just in time, Gakushu saved me from falling. He instinctively reached out and caught me against his chest. His arms were holding mine. I sighed in relief for how I hadn’t hit my head to the ground. He supported me to sit on the bed again.
“I guess, I can’t walk properly just yet.” I chuckled awkwardly and rubbed my hand behind my head.
He rubbed the behind of his neck out of nervousness but maintained his calm and composed facial expressions. It didn’t mean he was not flustered on the inside.
