It was after the break and Karasuma sensei seemed to be really buckling down on training. For the physical education class today our two most dangerous teachers were playing the cops with us students as the robbers who were escaping them.

"Sugaya, Prof. Bitch! Out!" said Ritsu.

Kayano, who held the phone gulped, "Yikes! We're dropping like flies."
"It's like Mount Slaughter out here." That was from Okuda. "Oh, this is Cops and Robbers right? This means..."
"If we tag them, they're free." Sugino replied before hopping off the rock he had been sitting on. "Sugino, you dummy." He was already far away when Karma said it.

My mind was barely on what they were talking about.

Gakushu knew I was waving at him this morning, yet he brushed it off. Would he have waved back at me if I did not reject him. Would it have been better if I had accepted him?
"Y/N!" Kayano's voice woke me up from my thoughts. "Run! He's coming in our direction." She was running already. I was about to go in the same direction as her but that might get us both caught so I ran in the opposite direction instead.

No, if I had accepted his confession, I would have felt more awkward knowing I did not reciprocate his feelings yet was pretending to. But nothing between us would have changed were it for him not liking me that way.

My feet were slowing down with my brain wandering off.

Karma was running next to me in the same direction as mine. With my speed lowering, my foot crossed with his path. Before I could react, I stumbled forward, my arms failed to catch me and both of us tumbled on the grass.

I end up half on top of him, faces inches apart.

While I was trying to keep myself together, he was unaffected.

Neither of us moved for a few moments, the two of us caught in each other's eyes.
Ritsu blew her whistle through our phones, "Time's up! Game over!"
"Nostalgic?" His voice was not even loud but the quietness in it soothed my ears.

I was well aware of how much my cheeks were flushing with red as I pulled back right away.
"Not at all. I never heard Ritsu say 'Game Over' before." I had faced away from him while pretending to wipe dust from my clothes.
"Not Ritsu. The time we were stuck in that library, remember?"
The flashback makes me all the more embarrassed.
*{Refer to CH7- when Y/N and Karma fell} *

If he sees what a blushing mess I am, he will definitely realize how I see him. "I'm going back to the classroom for some water. Damn, I'm thirsty." My attempt to take my mind off of the incidents was almost pitiable.

"Y/N, you're going to the station, right?" Kimura's hands rested on my desk.

"Yeah. Why?" I put my books back inside my bag.

"We're all going to see a new shortcut to the station. Join us." Sugaya gets up from his seat.

"I'll pass. I'm stopping somewhere before that."

Gakushu's father might have mistreated him again since he lost against Isogai and the others in the sports festival. We did say we could still be friends so looking out for him would not hurt, just in case his father was abusive again.

Being a Monday, the student council had a meeting which left me to wait for him outside the council's room.

I was going through the history chapters while still waiting. I only lifted my eyes up when Gakushu walked out and called out my name. He was silent for a moment. I closed the textbook.
"What brings you here?"
