One night I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. I kept tossing and turning. Trying different sleeping positions and they weren't working.
"Cant sleep?" Ruby woke up.
"Sorry i didnt mean to wake you," I apologised.
"No its okay," She assured me.

"I have an idea," Ruby stroked my cheek, "How about we go make hot chocolates and eat cookies and then we can cuddle. How does that sound?"
"Oh my god that sounds amazing. You're amazing," I held the hand that was on my cheek.

We went into the kitchen and put on the kettle. In the meantime we were holding each other. Her arms were round my neck, my arms round her waist and our cheeks pressed together.

"How do you like your hot chocolate?" I asked Ruby.
"I like white chocolate hot chocolate," Ruby played with my hair.
"And I like regular hot chocolate with a bit of milk," I leaned into her more.

The kettle finished boiling and we made our hot chocolates.
"This should be a regular thing," I grabbed a plate and put some cookies on it for us.
"Yes!" Ruby grinned.
We both headed back to my bedroom. It was basically now our bedroom. We sat on the bed and ate our cookies and drank our hot chocolates.

When i finished drinking mine i had a little bit of a hot chocolate moustache.
"Oh you have a bit of..." Ruby pointed at my face.
"Huh?" I logged my eyebrows in confusion.
"Oh come here," Ruby wiped it off from above my top lip with her.
She then licked the hot chocolate off her thumb. I chuckled and blushed.

We finished eating and drinking and I had an idea.
"Hey, how about we make a pillow fort?" I gained a big grin at my own idea.
"Yes! I haven't made one of them in years!" Ruby clapped.
"Come on!" I ran out the door to the TARDIS hallway and started to raid the cupboard for blankets and pillows.

We built the pillow fort on the bed, pillows as walls and blanket ceilings. It was small but it was fine cause the top half of our bodies could go in while our legs stuck out.
"One last touch," I added fairy lights.
"Perfect!" Ruby grinned.

We climbed in and covered ourselves with blankets. Ruby laid back and i had my head on her shoulder as i held her.
"This is magical," Ruby kissed my forehead.
"Any moment is magical if you're in it baby," I nuzzled into her shoulder.

"I used to make pillow forts all the time as a kid and I'd have tea parties with my teddies," I played with Ruby's shirt as I talked to her.
"Ooo, something i don't think we've ever asked each other. What was your childhood plushie?" Ruby asked a good question.

"Oh thats a good one. It was a cream bear named sparkles. And my nana used to knit little jumper for her," I smiled at the memory I loved.
"Well mine was a pink cat called meow," Ruby told me and I laughed, "Yeah! Yeah! I know it wasn't a creative name."
"No it's cute," I assured her, "Do you still have her?"
"Yeah I do. Do you still have sparkles?" Ruby asked.
"Yes. But shes not favourite for cuddle time," I admitted.

"Who's your favourite to cuddle with?"
Ruby asked.
"You!" I said as if that was obvious.
"Oh yeah!" She laughed, "I thought humans weren't included. You're also my favourite."
I got up leaning on my elbows and leaned my head down giving Ruby a long kiss.
