Chapter 43

"Kidnapped?" I reacted. "How did it happen?"

"Based on the CCTV footage, they were on their way to his mansion when they were attacked. It was clearly their intention to get Mr. Lim," our men explained.

"It must be Don Timothy," I said and looked at Hiroki. "He's also the one who attacked Owen."

"But we don't have any evidence that he did it," Hiroki said, his brows furrowed. "Without proof, we can't accuse him directly or take any decisive action against him." I didn't answer Hiroki and just looked directly at Milo. I know he has a point, but I just can't let this slide.

First, we found Owen badly injured, and now he kidnapped Mr. Lim? That old man... what does he really want from Mr. Lim? What does he want from us?

"Look into their hideouts where they could possibly take Mr. Lim. Once you find out, tell me immediately. I will go there myself to face that old man." I said as I clenched my fists.

Why not target us directly instead of someone else from my men? Is he scared of us and sees us as a threat?

"Also, send some men to his mansion to keep an eye on it. He might bring Mr. Lim there." Hiroki added.

Mr. Lim was kidnapped, but it won't stop us from continuing our plans here in the Philippines. We just arrived, and we still have a lot to do along the way. Don Timothy's time will come. I'll make sure of that.

"Where are you going?" I asked Owen when I visited him in his room and saw that he was already fixing his bedsheet.

Last night, we found him at the back of the abandoned hospital, severely beaten. Owen is one of our most skilled men in the Yamaguchi Empire, known for his resilience and strength. For him to be taken down like that last night, they must have used sedatives or some other drugs on him.

"I'll help in finding Mr. Lim, Oyabun," he said, asking for permission. I just looked at him directly for a few seconds without giving an answer. Then, I examined his entire condition.

"How about your left foot?" I glanced back when Hiroki entered the room and leaned against the door. His left foot was injured. It was one of the parts targeted to him last night.

"Well, if you insist, then I have no choice but to let you help them," I said softly.

Hiroki and I have a place to visit. It's a 10-hectare area with 20 buildings, one of our legal businesses here in the Philippines. This business has been successfully operating for years. But the underground is where our illegal businesses operate. It's where our firearms are stored and the antidote we got from the Cassano Organization, which is now in our hands. No one knows that it's ours now.

After, we have a farm to visit. We're considering buying one. We need a place to establish a laboratory for our operations. A larger space which is essential for the production of the antidote.

"Let's have lunch at your favorite restaurant before heading to check the farm. I'll call the chef." Hiroki held my hand.

"Can we?" I said and leaned against his shoulder.

"I already reserved for us, hon," he said, caressing my hair. I secretly smiled. He always asks me, but he had already made a reservation beforehand.

Even in our busy schedules, it's these thoughtful gestures that continually warm my heart and reaffirm his love and care. That the man I married twice never fails to make me feel cherished and appreciated.

While we were having our lunch, I frowned as Hiroki's phone suddenly rang. It was Mr. Islwynn calling him.

"Answer it," I said, giving Hiroki a nod. "It's because they can't contact Mr. Lim that's why they're contacting us."
