Chapter 55

"How are they?"

I asked Ryker about Kuya Islwynn and Kuya Evander's current condition. They're still unconscious after what happened to them. It seems their situation hasn't improved much, and they remain in a critical state. Ryker didn't have any new updates beyond that, but he always assured me they're receiving the best care possible.

"They'll be okay," he said with a reassuring smile.

"Please, do everything you can to save them," I said while looking directly at both of them. "I can't bear to lose them too."

We may not be on good terms, but I can't bear to see them in this situation. Where both of them are lying on the bed, unconscious, surrounded by all the medical machines.

"Madam, Azura Voyager has already arrived," Boris said behind me. It's been three days since Azura Voyager left the mansion for her mission. She was tasked with tracking down and eliminating the organizations allied with Don Timothy, a responsibility I assigned to her. I wonder how the operation went and whether she was able to accomplish everything.

"Tell her to meet me in my office," I answered without looking back at her.

I gently caressed the hair of both Kuya Islwynn and Kuya Evander. After spending a few quiet moments with them, I finally got up from their side. With a final, reassuring glance, I left the room, leaving them to Ryker.

"What happened to your face?" I asked with concern as I walked into my office, where Azura Voyager was already waiting for me. She had a fresh wound on her lips and a bruise on her cheek. She immediately stood up and bowed her head, but I waved my hand to signal her to sit back down.

"Just some minor injuries," she answered.

"Are you okay? Would you like me to call Ryker to check on you?" I asked, still concerned.

"No need, I'm okay."

"Alright," I said, nodding. "Then let's move on to the task I gave you. How did it go?" I leaned back in my swivel chair and crossed my arms, focusing closely on her. "You were assigned to eliminate all those organizations that were allied with Don Timothy. Did you manage to complete the task?"

"I completed my task. I eliminated them all, just as you said," she replied confidently. "All the evidence is outside if you want to verify it."

"No need for that. I trust you," I said with a smile.

She gave a small nod. "I'm just doing my job. Is there anything else you need from me today?"

I considered her question for a moment. She's a boss too, so I know she expected something in return for what she did. I wouldn't believe her if she said there was none.

"What do you want?" I asked straightforwardly as I arched my eyebrow. Her expression shifted to a slight frown as she looked at me.

"What do you mean?" she asked, slightly confused.

"Oh, come on," I chuckled. "Just say it. I know you want something in return for joining us. So, I'm going to ask you again, what do you want?"

She hesitated for a moment, her eyes dropping to the floor. When she looked back up, her expression was more serious. "Actually, there is something," she admitted. "My company has been struggling lately. We're on the edge of financial collapse."

I raised an eyebrow, waiting for her to continue.

"I need funds to keep the company from collapsing," she said, her voice steady but carrying a note of urgency. "If you could provide some financial support, it would make a huge difference. It's not just about the money—it's also about keeping the company's reputation and saving my uncle from those debtors." My eyes narrowed, considering her request.
