I nibbled on the some of the pretzels but wouldn't touch the water. I feared it was poisoned. I made sure to try it first before Melissa.
The pretzels were no where near satisfying but I wouldn't let myself die, not when I had to take care of Melissa. She was like a sister to me and I put her in danger.
I should have listened to her, not to go in the woods, to go back to school. I looked over to Melissa, she was still crying. I rubbed her back but she pulled away.
"Melissa, the pretzels are good. You need to eat a few to keep your strength up." I tried persuading her. She nodded and reached into the bowl. She grabbed a few and slowly ate them.
I looked at my foot, it was oozing out a greenish liquid. I touched around it, it was extremely sore. I was sure it was infected.
I ripped a piece of the of the shirt I was wearing and wrapped it around my food. I wrapped it tightly, wincing but I was sure it would help.
I pulled Melissa back as the heavy, metal door opened once again. Another girl was thrown in. In the same type of clothes we wore and her hair was soaked.
She looked over at us, shaking while tears poured down her face. I watched her in shock of who she was.
"Lyrica?"
