I layed in bed, staring at the bunk above me when to door opened. I closed my eyes and acted like I was sleeping.

I heard him walk over to us and stop. I winced as I heard a light scream and thrashing. I knew the scream it was Melissa.

Just after the door closed you could here another one open. Yelling and begging was heard in the background just before a gunshot.

I didn't know exactly what happened but I had an idea. I thought Melissa was gone and I could do absolutely nothing about it. After all I did to try to protect her, protect us. And now she's gone forever and it's my fault.

If we ever got out of here how would I tell her parents this? How would I tell her parents that she wanted to go back to, what now seems like one of the safest places in the world, and I said no and I kept walking so the result, we got taken and she got shot.

I spent, what seemed like forever, crying. Mourning over the death of someone who was like a sister to me when Lyrica finally woke.

"Where's Melissa?" She asked, hopping down from the top bunk. It was time to break a heart. "Th,they k,killed h,her." I stumbled over my words, not believing what I was saying.

"What?" She stood there in shock. "They took her not too long ago and shot her." I went into farther detail. "How do you know she was shot?" She questioned me.

"Because they took her into another room and not soon after I heard a gun shot." I turned over, starring at the old, yellow colored wall. "I don't think she was shot. I think they made her shoot someone who was lazy and stopped caring about all this." She said as if she's explained this before. That earned a questioning look from me.

"How would you know that? How do you know that?!" I yelled, knowing that there was really something wrong with this girl now. She knew more than she was letting on. It was like she's been through this before.

"I don't. Just a guess." She quickly turned away and walked to drink some water. I knew she was lying about that, but if Melissa comes back and tells me she had to shot someone, the next one to go, will be Lyrica.
