Fall 6,
Monday
Dear Diary,
Lanna was sound asleep last night. I guess touring in so many places takes a lot of you. But I was up just thinking and decided to get up and walk to the meadow while she was asleep.
I could've waited until morning. But I thought it was the only time I could be there alone.
I also love walking outside by myself in the cool air, though.
I really just wanted to see if there was something different about the pond. I hadn't been to the meadow since I went to get Marlin from out the rain, and I paid it no attention then.
I walked up to the pond and stared at the moon reflecting in the water. It looked... so still. I kneeled down, seeing my own reflection. And I think that was the weird part. Like I could barely see what was under the water. It was clear. It didn't look murky. But clear like a mirror. I think? Whatever it was, it felt off-putting.
"What happened here?" I said out loud.
"So, you've noticed too?"
I jumped at the voice and immediately stood up.
I'm so dumb. It's clear he hangs out here when everyone is asleep. I just hadn't seen him lately, so I didn't think about it.
"Do you also see the sprites?"
I raised an eye brow. It's like he read my mind. Or maybe concluded I would only be this interested in the Harvest Goddess pond if I knew more.
