Summer, 20
SaturdayDear Diary,
I went to go visit Witch Princess and well...it was an interesting experience.
"What do you want?" she said as she sat on her stool facing the wall.
She didn't exactly say it in a rude way but still made me feel kinda bad.
"What do you mean? I came to talk to you."
I hear her close what sounds like a book and she turned around. "Fine."
I sat on the other stool. "I've been meaning to talk to you about--"
"How I've been acting, right?"
"Er...yes."
I don't know why I thought she was oblivious to her attitude.
"I don't know."
I looked at her wide-eyed. "What?"
"I said I don't know. It's just an impulse like I have to protect you from all those guys."
Honestly, I don't think that's normal but I didn't question it.
"Well, what do you have against Kai?"
She stiffen and stayed like that for a few seconds.
"Hey, come back to earth!"
She blinked and moved her eyes towards me.
"I just don't trust him. Especially with that Pinky girl hanging around."
"You got trust issues?"
"Maybe."
I doubt that she had trust issues cause she opened up to me just cause I made her laugh. But then who knows how long she's been watching me. Actually, I don't want to think about that...
So I just asked her about the book she was reading to change the subject. She seemed really enthusiastic about it even though I was half listening.
Soon I went back to the ranch to finish working. Then when I was in the house playing with Ryoushii as Meme sat and watched there was a knock on the door. I opened the door and Gramps was standing there with a brown stallion.
"What the--"
"I found her wandering around. You want a horse?"
I stared in bewilderment. "You found a horse. wondering around," I repeated.
"Yes. Now do you want the horse or not?"
"Um...sure."
He patted her back. "So what are you going to name her?"
I tapped my chin and scrolled through my brain for names. "Kasumi."
"You're really into Japanese names."
"Yep."
He led the horse into the stable. "There's hay in there for now, but you'll have to get some more."
"Yeah. I figured." I took the bucket by the watering hole, filled it and poured in the trough.
"You can order a brush from Karen."
"Who's Karen?"
"I guess you didn't realize there's a phone in your house with a list of numbers of stores and businesses on it."
"Seriously?!"
I saw the phone there, but I didn't think it worked.
He sighed then walked into the main valley.
