Taehyung could feel his heart going crazy inside.
He was nervous. More than that even. His hands shook with terror and his breathing was ragged as he sat there waiting for his destiny to unfold. He was suppose to be strong today but he just couldn't bring himself to come anywhere near that image.
Being strong and courageous has never been a piece of cake afterall. It's always easy to expect others to be strong in a dire situation but in reality it's the most difficult thing to do when that situation ends up surrounding you.
For Taehyung it was even more arduous. He was a mateless omega, carrying a life inside him. Despite of trying his very best to be there for his pup he could not help but feel like a failure sometimes.
The boy knew that he should have been gallant, especially for his child. He knew that he should have fought through these circumstances instead of cowering away and closing himself up but he couldn't be that way despite of trying his best.
His heart and soul were still grieving for everything they had lost. His neck yearned for that beautiful mark again. He desired to look into those emerald eyes and hear words of compassion in that honey dripping voice. He wished to love and be loved by that one alpha again.
Something which looked almost impossible given the current scenario.
"Hyung? When will he come back? I.......I am feeling really anxious." He finally asked. The omega was no longer able to tolerate that anticipation. He just wanted to get over with their endeavour as soon as possible.
"He'll be here in a few minutes. Do you want some water?" Yoongi inquired with concern. He gently caressed the younger's head, silently telling the pregnant male that he was there right beside him.
"No." Taehyung smiled. "I'll wait. I don't think I'll be able to digest anything till we get to know about it."
Yoongi nodded. He understood where Taehyung was coming from. The two of them had made a lot of speculations in their mind about that night. One of which was too cruel to even think about but they had to. If they were to solve this mystery then they had to think about all possibilities, even if it could end up breaking them forever.
"I am sure the result will be in our favour. Don't think about all those cruel things Tae. Trust your instincts and let yourself be free. Hmm." The alpha tried his very best to be comforting and gentle. He really wanted Taehyung to take it easy. The amount of stress the omega was going through could harm him real bad in the future and he wanted none of that.
"I am trying to b.........."
Just then the door clicked open, catching both their attention at once.
"I'm back with the reports." The new presence announced before hastily making his way towards his desk. "Do you want me to reveal it right now or will you guys take a look at it when you're back at your place?"
"Do it right now Mr. Park. We're ready." Taehyung declared. His hand finding its way to Yoongi's and holding onto it as tightly as he could.
"Okay." The doctor bobbed his head and got into action. He opened the envelope in his hand and took out the piece of paper inside it. His each action under the anxious gaze of the other two in the room.
"It's........." He gulped. "It's a match. The pup is Jungkook's. The DNA test confirms it Taehyung."
As if a big weight had been lifted off their shoulders, Taehyung and Yoongi looked at each other. Their orbs wet with tears that described the relief they felt in that moment. Hastily the omega grabbed onto the report and read it himself to make sure that he was not hallucinating.
"It's ours." He cried. "The pup is ours hyung. Mine and J...Jungkook's."
"Yes it is." Yoongi smiled wide, his own eyes watering at the revelation. Oh how happy it made him to see Taehyung rejoicing the news. He felt victorious. He finally felt as if he had done something for the boy he had vowed to protect.
"But......But then why couldn't he feel the baby hyung? W....why?"
That sudden question was enough for his smile to drop.
The realisation of their horrific situation dawning on him again.
"Mr. Park." He sternly called out. "Is it possible for a trueblood to not feel his pup? Can memory loss and rejection affect this ability too?"
"Not under normal conditions." The doctor informed. "An alpha gets to know about their baby within a few days of implantation while a trueblood will only take a few hours for the same. Also, memory loss and rejection cannot affect this ability because the baby does carry a part of the father in it. That is enough to form a connection to the pup."
Taehyung breathed out shakily. His previous anxiety returning to haunt him again. "My mate did not feel the baby at all doctor. He......He couldn't form a connection to our pup. I've been around him all this while then why is it happening to us?"
The beta sighed. He was confused too since he knew both Taehyung and Jungkook personally. The two of them were completely healthy individuals so a situation like this was not normal until and unless there was something unknown messing with their systems.
"I don't want to sound weird but who serves you food Taehyung. A maid? A family member? And Jungkook?"
"I do." Yoongi stated. "I serve him food when I'm home and he serves himself when I'm not. As far as Jungkook is concerned, he doesn't really like when someone else does these little things for him so he does it himself too."
"Then I want you guys to bring me the medicines you've been taking currently." The doctor instructed them with a serious look on his countenance. A look that was hint enough of the speculations. "Both your's and Jungkook's. Also, they should be the one in current usage. One pill, two pills, it doesn't matter. Just get me all the medicine that's left in your present horde. I suspect that......"
someone might be altering your internal systems with some sort of drug."

Okay so this scene and the previous scene are happening simultaneously at two different locations. Both the teams are trying to reach a conclusion in their own ways.
