~Episode One: Bird Psycho~Over the term holidays Harper had been fully integrated into their group and they found that she was actually quite cool when she wasn't in fight or flight mode waiting for either her dad or the eshays to hurt her. She'd been staying with Amerie since her dad was admitted to a psychiatric facility.
Joey's brother, Christopher, had come home to visit for a while much to her parents's joy and Joey's annoyance but that annoyance was lifted slightly when her dad had bought her a car when she passed her driving test. Darren had joked that it was his attempt to make up for not loving her anymore which Quinni had scolded them for but Joey had laughed it off, having gotten used to her dad's emotional distance from her by now.
So, on the first day of term, Quinni was sitting beside her in the passenger seat while Darren sat in the back as they pulled up outside of Amerie's house to pick up her and Harper for school.
While they waited, Joey checked her appearance in her mirror, making sure that her hair—which she'd grown out and gotten skunk-tail highlights in—was looking presentable still.
A moment later the two girls emerged from Amerie's house and made their way over to the car and Joey leaned out of the window, "Move it, whores, we haven't got all day," she yelled. They got into the back of the car with Darren and Joey began to drive to school again. "Good morning, everybody ready for a new term in satan's realm?" She greeted them.
"I am roped and gagged!" Darren exclaimed, "How are we back already?" They questioned before speaking in a transatlantic accent, "I am hungry for an education. I am starving for it."
"Yeah, you bloody need one," Amerie quipped.
They soon arrived at school and got out of the car after Joey parked in the car park. She tucked her keys into her bag before they began to walk towards the quad.
"Can we walk three by two?" Quinni asked the group, "is that annoying?"
"It's all good." Darren assured her.
Quinni stepped forward walking in line with Joey and Harper while Amerie and Darren linked arms and walked behind them.
Once they began to walk again, Harper glanced over at Quinni who was fidgeting with her hands, "You okay?" She asked.
"Yeah. No, I'm totally fine," the girl assured her, "its just, I only ever mentally prepared myself to walk four abreast before Amerie came, it was just me, Darren and Joey and before Darren and Joey, it was just me." She explained, "not that I'm not completely stoked that you're here with us."
"I know. Thank you for having me."
Joey nudged her with her hip, "yeah, you're alright when you're not punching Amerie in the face," she shrugged making Harper chuckle.
