~Episode Eight: Boys Don't Cry~
Darren was quickly swept up by the puriteens when they arrived at formal leaving Joey on her own. She stood by the wall, watching as her classmates danced. Namely Spider who seemed to be having a great time dancing in the middle of the dance floor and drinking from a small metal flask hip flask. She clenched her jaw as she glared, in a way regretting her decision to end things now that she wasn't fuelled by confusing hormones and Alice's words weren't swimming around in her mind.
"You look like you need a drink," Missy commented as she joined Joey's side, "Here, Ant spiked it with Malibu." She held out her cup of punch to the girl but she shook her head.
"Can't, I'm driving."
"Sucks to be you then," Missy grinned, taking a sip from the cup, "You know, he won't die if you keep glaring at him. Trust me I've tried before."
Joey pried her eyes away from Spider, "Can't hurt to try." She shrugged.
Missy suddenly grabbed her hand, "Come on, you deserve better than that shithead anyway. Let's dance." Joey allowed herself to be dragged onto the dance floor by Missy and the pair began to dance like they had no cares in the world, dragging Joey from her bad mood.
The two decided to stick together for a while, joined also by Harper, seeing as Darren was with the puriteens, Amerie was with Rowan as her date and Sasha was a no show and after a small rest from dancing Missy dragged the two back out to dance when Nutbush City Limits began to play.
"Let's go! let's go!"
People flocked onto the dance floor, including Woodsy and Miss Obah to do the dance. Singing along as she danced the steps she'd learnt when she was little dancing around in the kitchen with her mum, Joey was too busy notice the pair of blue eyes that followed her every movement, watching her longingly as she had fun dancing with her friends while he stood miserably off to the side.
When the song concluded it faded into a slow song and as people began to pair off, Joey offered her hand to Missy who over dramatically took it and the two began to sway to the music, Missy wrapping her arms around Joey's neck so Joey placed her ands on the girls waist.
"You know, if me at the beginning of the year could see me now, she'd think I'd lost the plot," Missy told her and Joey chuckled, "You've drank too much punch."
Missy giggled, "It's formal, I'm here to have fun."

In her drunken state, Missy had accidentally let slip to Amerie that Malakai had gone to Switzerland with his mum and in her distress about not being able to have said goodbye Amerie accidentally blurted out that she was in love with the boy right under front of Rowan who took off upset making Amerie and in turn Harper chase after him.
