~Episode Five: The Demon King~

It had been a week since Quinni's brush with death in the woods and she'd spent the time at home in bed reading Angeline of the Underworld while she rested. With a light knock on the girl's bedroom door, Darren gently pushed it open and they entered the room followed by Joey and Amerie, the three of them offering Quinni kind smiles.

"Hello," said Darren softly as Quinni sat up, "How're you feeling?"

"Better now I've been home a few days," Quinni told them as Darren and Joey sat down at the bottom of her bed, "Oh, and mum says when you're feeling better you're invited to come for tea and she'll make whatever you like," Joey told the girl who brightened up.

"I love your mum's cooking!"

Amerie pulled a large card from her bag, "We have something for you." She held the get well soon card out to the girl, "Got the whole year group to sign it at school yesterday."

Quinni opened the card, her eyes scanning over the names inside before looking back up, "Oh my god. This is genius," she exclaimed, "this is such an obvious way to cross check handwriting samples."

She got out of bed and walked over to her wall which Joey now realised was covered in 'evidence' and string for her investigation into bird psycho. There were suspect photos, 'crime scene' photos, handwriting samples, notes on post-its and it was all connected with red string. It was intense.

"Whoa, that is a lot of string," Amerie commented as Darren and Joey stood up and the three of them moved closer to get a better look.

"How long have you been doing this for babe?" Darren asked.

"Since the first attack,"

Joey frowned deeply as she eyed the wall, wondering how Quinni even managed to obtain headshot-like photographs of everyone including Voss, Ca$h and Spider.

"Okay, well, you know, there hasn't been any more Bird Psycho attacks since camp so I think we might be in the clear Quinn," said Amerie as she sat down on the bed again.

"Hang on." Darren mumbled, "It probably takes a lot of time to plan those attacks."

Joey hummed in though, "I mean, the surveillance on Amerie alone—" She was cut off by Amerie clearing her throat.

Both Darren and Joey looked over at the girl who signalled for them to stop encouraging Quinni.

"Right," Darren muttered as they both sat down on the bed side by side next to Amerie, "I think it's over. They probably freaked out when they nearly killed you."
