~Episode Eight: Three of Swords~
Joey wasn't surprised when she was grounded for the foreseeable future after the protest. However, she was surprised when Amerie became friends with Harper again after finding out the truth and getting the answers she'd been desperate for all term. Harper had almost been assaulted on the night of the summer music festival she and Amerie had gone to by the eshays that Ca$h hung out with and the boy had been the only reason she was able to get away. Her dad had also been acting crazy and tried to attack her multiple times making her so scared that she'd stabbed him.
The girl had come back to school after Dusty, Spider and Ant had admitted to being the ones who made up the accusation against Miss Obah and in lieu of this information Joey decided to cut Spider off completely. In brighter news, their protest had been a success in the end and Miss Obah had been reinstated as SLTs class teacher with the three boys being her new assistants.
Joey took her seat in SLTs behind Darren and Quinni and leant her elbows on her desk in front of her while she waited for everyone else to arrive.
She internally groaned when Spider sat down in the empty seat beside her but she didn't engage with him. She kept her eyes forward and didn't even look at him while Miss Obah entered the classroom and made her way to the front to begin the register.
Out of the corner of her eyes she saw him scribble something on a piece of paper before sliding it over to her. She huffed out a sigh and read it before scribbling a reply and shoving it back at him.
Can we talk after class?
No.
He opened his mouth to say something but was interpreted when Miss Obah called out Joey's name and the girl's attention returned to the front of the room as she responded, "here,"
Once Miss Obah had finished the register, noting that only Ca$h was absent, she began the lesson and Spider pulled his phone out, blatantly ignoring the teacher.
"I'd like us to complete the following sentence," she instructed them, "no wrong answers, okay? 'Some people might choose not to have sex because...'"
"They're fugly," Spider answered without looking away from his phone.
"For the love of God someone other than Spencer." Miss Obah pleaded.
The sound of a police siren blaring outside of the window began to distract the class a little until Ant stood up and peered out of the window.
"Oi it's Ca$h," he informed everyone else, noticing the boy sprinting down the street towards the school with multiple police vehicles chasing him.
