Kelli's POV
I found my room on the bottom floor, in the last hall I checked, and with a squeakiest henge on the door. I changed out of the wet clothes and into my black suit. I don't know if they hunted me down or just wanted a female butler who just happened to be my size because the suit fit perfectly.I walked out today the room and searched the entire palace for Mariska. I found her in study, hunching over some book. I came into the study, waiting for her to notice my presence.
"Do you need something, Kelli?" She asked, not even looking up.
"Well... I'm a little new at this whole butler thing, and I was just checking in on you," I answered, hoping for a simple response instead of scolding or another slap to the face.
"Make me some tea."
"Earl Grey," she whispered, glancing at me. I nodded and was about to leave when she cleared her throat. "Kelli, when I give you an order, do something to let me know you understand."
"Yes, Mistress," I sighed, waiting to see her to say anything.
"I like that."
I walked out of the room, knowing where the kitchen was from my earlier search for my room. I made the tea and walked back to the study. I gave her the tea, " Earl Grey Tea and a side of assorted nuts coated with caramel as a side until supper is ready."
She looked at the tray, surprise showing on her face. She sipped the tea, Her eyes widening, "This tea is fantastic."
"Only the best for my Mistress," I said, taking the test that held the food.
"Please go prepare supper, I have work to do."
"Yes, Mistress."
___________________________I'm helping Mariska get out of her clothes and into her night gown when I noticed the same stance from earlier that day. The way she always hid her chest like I was going to attack her.
"Kelli...?" She asked quietly, love poking over her shoulder.
I brought her a royal blue gown and looked at her, "Yes, Mistress?"
"Can I trust you?"
I looked at her in confusion, holding the gown to my chest, "Pardon me, Mistress, I didn't hear you."
"Can I trust you?" She said a little louder, looking at me with worry and hesitation in her eyes.
"I am your loyal servant, am I not?"
"About today, and don't get used to explanations. I did not know if I could trust you. You must treat me with respect, and you cannot state too long; like this morning."
"I'm terribly sorry, but you can trust me," I assured, watching her face change from hesitance to trust. She turned around and removed her arms from her chest, revealing her unclothed body.
I slowly walked toward her slowly, pulling the gown over her body. I straightened her gown and pulled the covers over her body once she settled into the king sized bed. She snuggled into her pillow and I blew the candle out before leaving the room.
I walked back to the study, cleaning up her mess from earlier. I went from room to room, cleaning up papers, tea cups, and books left on tables. I explored the castle, learning where rooms were.
I made my way to the bathroom by my room, removing my suit and settling in the bath. I washed my hair and went to bed.
