Hotland was a whole other ballgame with both the heat and monsters trying to kill Astigma. Each and every one was spared, just as he'd done with everyone else since leaving the Ruins. Muffet had let him through, seeing as he was good to her spiders in the Ruins and bought from her all the time. Man, he was tired. Astigma couldn't afford sleep, though. It was far too late for that now. He had to get through the lab and to the C.O.R.E and from there to New Home. The Lab was cool, unlike the stifling heat of the magma pools outside. The Labs interior screamed workaholic, and the screen that caught his eye instantly showed that he was probably going to be the next target to the Royal Scientist's plans, whoever they may be. As he ventured further in, though, he wasn't faced by the one named Alphys. The thing that bulldozed through the damn was nothing like her at all, in fact. He'd heard stories, though. "Mettaton? My dad loves your show." The robot seemed put off by Astigma's words, so he continued before the star could speak. "I was never able to watch it though, there's no TV where I live..." Mettaton's lights beeped, and he extended a hand to Astigma. "Then let me show you the show of a lifetime, darling~"

It turned out that he hadn't meant that in a friendly way. No sooner had Mettaton led him to a stage when he changed form and attacked Astigma with killing intent. Astigma pulled out the bone to help protect himself as he avoided bombs and lasers and guns. "You see, darling~ My show is all about life or death~" He hissed maliciously. Astigma tried to decommission the guns first, convince Mettaton that there could be a better ending. "There is no better ending! Someone will die today, and I won't allow it to be me!" Mettaton's attacks were getting harder, hell, every fight seemed to be getting harder. Perhaps he was taking this whole thing wrong, though. Perhaps he needed to wow the viewers another way. Instead of trying to convince Mettaton, he did a trick with the bone attack and kept doing tricks and flips as he dodged Mettaton's attacks. The ratings skyrocketed and Mettaton's four eyes went wide at the numbers. Eventually they started doing tricks together until the show was over and Mettaton was spared.

Astigma made his way into True Labs and pacified the Amalgamates with Mettaton's help. He used an elevator that would take him straight to the C.O.R.E. Mettaton told him that there was his resort where Astigma could rest and another elevator leading into New Home. Mettaton even gave him something for when he ran into Alphys. Astigma could hardly believe that he was already almost done with the journey. He was honestly looking forward to going back to the Ruins when the Barrier was broken. He would most certainly get into trouble, but it would be worth it when he told them be befriended the entire fucking Underground. The elevator dinged and Astigma headed out, only to get blocked by the one he was expecting. "Dr. Alphys... you look pissed." He pointed out. "Pissed? I'll show you pissed! I'm gonna take your soul one way or another!" A barrier lit up around the Royal Scientist and she shot at him with a familiar gun... Mettaton's gun. "What did you do to Mettaton?!" Astigma demanded. "I had that hunk of junk decommissioned for his failure!" Alphys snapped back, a grin crawling onto her lips. "And now you will by my welcome experiment."
