You didn't know what you were seeing or how this came to be. You and Papyrus were just kind of frozen there as Astigma and Asgore held each other in the friendliest of hugs, a scythe dropped onto the floor and the king spewing out his whole life story to the kid. Astigma listened patiently and tiredly the entire time. When the king let go, he started to heal your oldest's injures... and there were a lot of them. Despite this, though, Astigma stood proud despite his injuries and exhaustion... he really was his father's son. You looked up at Papyrus, who was smiling proudly at him, just waiting to be able to show him as such - but Asgore needed to finish fixing the damage he'd done. "What about the barrier..?" Astigma asked with as strong a voice as he could muster. "What about the barrier?" Asgore asked in confusion. "I came here... to break the barrier so my little brother could see the Surface... and my dad and uncle and granny too..." Asgore's brows puckered. "They are humans?" He asked in confusion. "Nope... they are monsters, just like you. My mom is the only other human."

You decided it was about to step in there. "[Y/N] [L/N]. I am Astigma's mother..." All the boys looked at you as you walked over to your son and crouched beside him, grasping his shoulders in a firm grip. "M-mom- dad-? I-I'm so sorry! I was just trying to-"
"Astigma, I Am Very Proud Of You." Papyrus wasted no time crossing the threshold and hugged his son in Asgore's stead. "What You Were Trying To Do Is Very Noble, However." Papyrus paused to glance at the barrier, pulsating with magic. "That Would Mean Sacrificing Your Soul, And Nobody In The Entire Underground Wants That, Especially Not Your Family. You Have Done More Than Enough..." Astigma looked disappointed, but also happy. He'd missed his family and his father was giving him such high praise! "You're still in trouble for running away, though." You didn't want to be that bitch, but he'd scared the shit out of you. Astigma's tired eyes went wide. "But, I'm proud of you too, baby boy..." He scowled and complained that he wasn't a baby. "Let us discuss away from the barrier, yes?" Asgore offered. If he was going to repair things, it would have to start with his former Captain.

You, Papyrus, and Astigma all left the castle together, headed home to Snowdin. Around yours and Astigma's necks were the royal crests, telling the monsters of the Underground that you were under king Asgore's protection. Not that it really seemed to matter, they were all pacified by Astigma. You carried your six year old as he slept in your hold. After such a long journey, neither you nor Papyrus could really blame him. "Are you happy to be reinstated as Captain, Papyrus?" You asked as the elevator took you down to Hotland. From there, you would ferry to Snowdin. "I Am Glad To Have My House Back." Papyrus replied. "Sans Will Be As Well." You paused a moment to consider. "How are we all going to fit? Sans will want his own space and I don't think all four of us can fit in one bedroom." You pointed out. "Sans Can Have The Basement Or Something." He shrugged cluelessly. "It Will All Be Figured Out. In The Meantime... I Should Call That Lazybones And Let Him Know Of This New Development." Papyrus pulled out his phone while you smiled at your son.
