53. Who Do You Trust?

Multiple fire fighting planes fly over the forest spraying water on the trees which were on fire. All the students that had sustained heavy injuries were hauled away to ambulances and the ones who sustained minor ones were taken to the medical shelters that were set up nearby. Three villains: namely, Mustard, Moonfish and Muscular were arrested by the authorities; each of them heavily restrained. Out of the Pussycats, Pixie Bob took a severe blow to the head and Ragdoll mysteriously went missing; only bloodstains were found in the spot where she was last seen.

The training camp that all the students were all looking forward to ended in the worst way imaginable.

"So, how many students are accounted for?" Detective Tsukauchi asked the now awake Shota Aizawa and Vlad King.

"38 students are still here. There are 11 who suffered various injuries and 12 who got off without a scratch." Aizawa replied.

"15 students are in critical condition due to the gas attack and 2 are missing." Vlad King added.

"Anything else?" The Detective asked.

"Yeah. You might find it unbelievable but...Ben 10,000 was one of the villains who attacked us." Vlad King informed.

"You're kidding, right?" Tsukauchi asked in disbelief.

"No, it's true." Monoma replied as he joined Vlad's side. "He jumped us and then knocked us unconscious. It's hard to believe but it's true."

"That wasn't the real Ben Tennyson." Aizawa immediately informed. "The man who attacked us was an imposter. Ken Tennyson and the imposter himself confirmed it."

"That sounds ridiculous!" Vlad replied.

"Think about it, Vlad. Ben has been a hero for 3 decades, He has absolutely nothing to gain by allying himself with the villains. This is exactly what the villains want. They must have brought this imposter here to make our faith in Ben waver." Aizawa explained but Vlad still wasn't convinced.

"Tennyson could've just said that to keep suspicion off of himself. Plus, it is entirely possible that Ken Tennyson is also working for the villains. After all, how would Ben know how to get to this place unless he had an operative among the heroes, AKA, his son!" Vlad argued.

"You do bring up a strong point, Vlad King. But Eraserhead has a point too. Like he said, Ben Tennyson has nothing to gain by joining up with the villains. I've met the man myself and never once did I feel any malicious intent come from him. Even if this was the real Ben, there must be a story to what he did tonight." Tsukauchi replied as he took down Vlad's and Aizawa's opinions along with his own theories.

"I agree with you, Detective." Aizawa agreed. "If you'll excuse me, I'd like to tend to the students."

"Me too." Vlad added as he bowed to Tsukauchi before walking away with Aizawa.

THE NEXT DAY AT U.A. HIGH SCHOOL (STILL DURING SUMMER BREAK)

A hoard of news reporters stood in front of the UA High campus building. All of them demanding answers from the staff.

"UA! How do you respond to 2 students being kidnapped?!"

"How did the villains manage to invade you a 2nd time?!"

"We want answers! You can't hide from us forever!!"

In the meeting room of the school, the available heroes, Snipe, Midnight, All Might and Present Mic sat a round table along with the Principal, Nezu.

"We established the training camp to better prepare our students to fight against the villains. We should be embarrassed by the sheer irony of the situation." Nezu said to the staff of heroes. "This 'villain revival'...We took it lightly. They've already begun their war to destroy hero society.
