isn't it just so pretty to think all along
there was some invisible string tying you to me?

THE CHILDREN followed Lucy to where the wardrobe stood. She led them eagerly, her excitement palpable. Susan opened the wardrobe and pulled the coats apart, only to reveal the wooden back. "Sorry, Lucy, the only wood in here is the back of the wardrobe," Susan said.
"One game at a time, Lu. We don't all have your imagination," Peter sighed.
"But I wasn't imagining," Lucy insisted, her voice pleading. "I wouldn't lie about this," she continued, tears forming in her eyes.
"Well, I believe you," Edmund said seriously, surprising everyone since he wasn't usually like that.
"You do?" Ivory questioned him.
"Yeah, didn't I tell you about the football field I found in the bathroom closet?" Edmund replied, his tone clearly unserious.
"Ed!" Ivory scolded. "Why don't you just stop it? You always have to make everything worse. Grow up!" Peter spat at his brother.
"Shut up! You think you're Dad, but you're not!" Edmund retorted, then turned to Ivory. "And you—just stop it!" he snapped before storming out of the room, his footsteps heavy with anger.
Ivory stood there, confused and hurt.
"What did I do?" she muttered, dumbfounded.
"Well, that was nicely handled," Susan remarked before walking off. "It really was there..." Lucy said sadly.
"Susan's right. That's enough," Peter added before leaving too, leaving Lucy and Ivory alone in the room.
Ivory, feeling the tension and awkwardness, sighed. "Ugh, well, that escalated quickly. I'm just gonna... head out and get some fresh air or something." She awkwardly shuffled towards the door. "Catch you later, Lu."
Lucy watched her leave, feeling even more isolated.
A moment later, Ivory reappeared at the door, taking a deep breath. "Hey, Lu, I'm sorry about all that. Let's go for a walk. You can tell me what happened," she offered, her voice softer.
Lucy sniffled, looking down at the floor. "You're just saying that to make me feel better."
"Maybe I am, but I've heard some wild stories from my grandpa about this wardrobe. I want to hear your side," Ivory responded more casually. "Come on, let's get out of here."
They walked out of the room together, Ivory's hand on Lucy's back, guiding her. As they walked, Lucy recounted everything that had happened in Narnia, and Ivory listened, believing every word.
