AS THEY reached the shore and climbed out of the boat, Trumpkin secured the vessel while Lucy wandered off, catching sight of a bear.

"Hello there! It's alright, we're friends," Lucy called out, her voice gentle.

The bear stood up, eyeing Lucy with an intense stare.

"Don't move, your majesty!" Trumpkin warned urgently.

The bear began to charge. Susan quickly nocked an arrow to her bowstring.

"Stay away from her!" Susan shouted, her voice filled with urgency.

"Susan, shoot!" Edmund urged, his tone frantic.

The bear continued its charge, causing Lucy to scream in fear. Just before the bear reached her, a dagger whizzed through the air, embedding itself in the bear, which fell over. Susan looked over and saw that it was Ivory who had thrown the dagger.

Ivory hurried to Lucy, who pulled her into a hug, both kneeling down in the sand.

"Why wouldn't he stop?" Susan asked, perplexed.

"I expect he was hungry," Trumpkin replied as he approached.

They all gathered around Lucy and Ivory. Peter helped Lucy up and pointed his sword at the bear's body.

Edmund extended a hand to Ivory, helping her up. "Thanks for saving Lucy. Again," he said softly, his eyes locking onto hers.

Ivory shrugged casually, her usual sarcasm back in place. "Well, someone has to keep an eye on her. Can't have you lot getting all the glory."

"He was wild," Edmund remarked, still holding her hand.

"I don't think he could talk at all," Peter added, inspecting the bear.

Trumpkin shook his head. "Get treated like a dumb animal long enough, and that's what you become."

Drawing his knife, Trumpkin added, "You may find Narnia a more savage place than you remember."

As they walked off, Edmund and Ivory fell into step beside each other. Edmund squeezed her hand gently. "Are you alright? That was quite a throw."

Ivory glanced at him, her lips curving into a smirk. "What, surprised I still have my aim?"

Edmund chuckled. "Not at all. You've always been the best with a dagger. I just... I worry, you know?"

Ivory raised an eyebrow. "Worry about what? That I'll show you up?"

"Maybe," Edmund teased. "Or maybe that you'll get hurt trying to save all of us."

"Someone's gotta keep you on your toes, Ed," Ivory retorted, her tone light but with a hint of sincerity. "Besides, you need me around to keep you in check."

Edmund's expression softened. "I need you around for more than that."

Ivory's smirk faltered, and she looked away, the memory of their past still lingering. "Don't get all mushy on me now, Pevensie. We have a mission."

"Right," Edmund agreed, though his gaze lingered on her a moment longer. "But, just so you know, I am really glad you're here."

"Yeah, yeah," Ivory waved him off playfully. "Let's go find out what mess we're in this time."

They continued walking, their banter lightening the heavy atmosphere as they ventured further into the unknown, ready to face whatever Narnia had in store for them.
