THE GRAND ballroom of Telmar was alive with music, laughter, and the vibrant hum of conversation. The Narnian royals mingled with nobles from various kingdoms, basking in the glow of their hard-won peace. Ivory and Edmund had just finished another dance, and Ivory's cheeks were flushed with happiness as she held Edmund's hand.

As they moved towards the refreshment table, a lady from a neighboring kingdom approached them, her expression cool and assessing. "Lady Ivory, may I have a word?" she asked, her voice dripping with formality.

"It's Queen Ivory but of course," Ivory corrected her, a polite smile on her face.

The lady glanced at Edmund before turning back to Ivory. "It's about your relationship with King Edmund. I must say, it's quite... surprising."

Ivory's smile faltered slightly. "Surprising? How so?"

The lady leaned in, lowering her voice. "You shouldn't be in a relationship with him. It's not proper."

Ivory's eyes narrowed. "And why is that?"

"His past, dear. His involvement with Jadis the White Witch. It's a stain on his reputation that cannot be erased," the lady said bluntly.

Ivory felt a surge of anger. "You're wrong about Edmund. He's not the person you think he is."

Other people began to gather, drawn by the rising tension. Murmurs spread through the crowd as more people joined the conversation.

"Edmund betrayed his family and Narnia," someone said.

"He's a traitor," another voice added.

"No one can fix him, not even you, Lady Ivory," a third voice chimed in.

Ivory's temper flared. "Edmund has more courage and honor than any of you know. He made a mistake, but he more than made up for it. He fought bravely for Narnia and has proven himself countless times since then."

The lady sniffed. "Some stains never wash out, my dear."

Ivory glared at her. "Maybe you should focus on your own flaws as well as your old ages before judging others. Edmund is a better person than most of the people in this room. He's kind, brave, and just. And I'm proud to be with him."

As the crowd murmured amongst themselves, Edmund approached, having overheard the conversation. His face was pale, his expression stricken.

"What's going on here?" he asked, his voice tight.
