EDMUND STOOD in the library, watching Ivory slam the book shut with an intensity that matched the fury in her eyes. He approached cautiously, aware of the storm brewing within her.
"Ivory," he started, his voice soft but tinged with urgency. "Why did you burn the letters? They meant everything to me."
Ivory's gaze pierced through him, her lips curling into a bitter smile. "Yet I didn't mean anything to you when you left me," she shot back, her words like daggers.
Edmund's brow furrowed in confusion and hurt. "Ivory, please... I didn't mean to hurt you like this. I never wanted to..."
"Save it, Edmund," she interrupted, her tone sharp and cutting. "I am erasing myself from the narrative. Let future historians wonder how I reacted when you broke my heart."
"You're out of your mind!" Edmund exclaimed, frustration lacing his words.
Ivory met his gaze unflinchingly. "Oh, am I? What a shame. I'm fucked in the head," she retorted, her voice trembling with suppressed emotion.
With that final declaration, Ivory turned on her heel and stormed out of the library, leaving Edmund standing there, stunned and at a loss for words.
As she disappeared down the corridor, Edmund's eyes fell upon the book Ivory had been reading before he approached. The title sent a chill down his spine: "Witchcraft and the Power of Curses."
His mind raced with questions and doubts. What was Ivory researching? Was there something more behind her anger, something darker lurking beneath the surface?
The library echoed with silence, heavy with the weight of unspoken truths and unanswered questions, leaving Edmund to grapple with the unsettling feeling that Ivory's fury might not be the only force at play in Narnia.

The next day dawned with an air of tension that hung heavily over Cair Paravel. Edmund, his demeanor strained and weary, stood before the gathered Narnians in the grand hall. Princess Seraphina stood beside him, a calculating smile playing on her lips. Lucy, Susan, and Peter stood with solemn expressions, their eyes flickering between their brother and the princess.
Edmund cleared his throat, his voice echoing in the silence that followed. "My fellow Narnians," he began, his tone weighed down by the gravity of his words. "I have made a decision that affects us all."
Gasps and murmurs rippled through the crowd, anticipation mixed with anxiety. Edmund glanced at his siblings, finding support in their unwavering gazes, and then turned to face the assembly.
"I have decided to pursue a union with Princess Seraphina of Telmar," he announced, his voice steady despite the turmoil within him.
The reaction was immediate and visceral. Narnians exchanged uneasy glances, whispers of disbelief and discontent spreading like wildfire. Lucy stepped forward, her voice laced with concern. "Edmund, you can't be serious. This isn't right."
