Ronnie and Evan sat in the hallway waiting for Regulus to finish his meeting with one of his professors before the three of them would be heading to the library to do some of their homework. Ronnie was listening intently as Evan told her what was happening lately in the Slytherin common room.

Evan's expression was grave as he leaned in closer to Ronnie, his voice barely above a whisper as he spoke about the worsening behaviour of the Carrow siblings. "It's gotten really bad, Ronnie," he murmured, his eyes reflecting genuine concern. "They're targeting Slytherins who are pureblood too, not just muggle-borns or half-bloods. It's like they're on a mission to cause chaos."

Ronnie's brow furrowed with worry as she listened to Evan's words. The Carrow siblings had always been trouble, but if they were now turning on their own, it was a sign that things were escalating dangerously. "Do you think they'll seriously hurt someone?" she asked, her voice tinged with fear.

Evan nodded grimly, his gaze darkening with unease. "I wouldn't put it past them," he admitted, his tone somber. "Alecto, in particular, she's... she's ruthless. I've heard rumours about what she's capable of, and it's not pretty."

Ronnie's jaw clenched with anger at the thought of Alecto Carrow and her cruelty. "Alecto Carrow can kiss my ass!" she exclaimed, her frustration boiling over.

Evan couldn't help but laugh at her outburst, though he knew the situation was far from amusing. "Yes, yes, as exciting as that mental image is, try to just avoid her," he advised, his tone laced with humour but underlying seriousness.

Ronnie nodded in agreement, her expression determined. She knew she needed to be cautious around the Carrow siblings, especially if they were becoming more volatile. But the thought of backing down in the face of their tyranny only fueled her determination to stand her ground.

Just then, the door to the professor's office opened, and Regulus emerged, his expression focused as he joined Ronnie and Evan in the hallway. "Sorry for the wait," he said, his voice calm but with a hint of urgency. "Let's head to the library and get started on our work."

As they made their way to the library, Ronnie couldn't shake the weight of Evan's warning about the Carrow siblings. She knew they had it out for her and her friends and it worried her.

At the library, they all sat at the table doing their homework but Ronnie stayed very quiet. She couldn't stop thinking about what EVan had told her and it was heavily distracting her that she was barely paying attention to what the boys were doing or saying.

Evan excused himself to go to the restroom as Regulus turned to fully face Ronnie. He watched as she sat there, her eyes focused on the table as he knew her mind was racing about something. About what? He didn't know.

Regulus could sense she was distressed and had been stealing concerned glances her way throughout the time they'd been in the library. He had noticed the way her laughter didn't quite reach her eyes, the way she absentmindedly twirled a strand of hair around her finger, lost in her thoughts.

Finally, unable to bear her silence any longer, Regulus leaned in closer, his voice a gentle murmur. "Ronnie, is everything alright?"

Ronnie's gaze remained fixed on the table, her fingers tightening around the quill in her hand. She hesitated, unsure whether to confide in him. But the concern in Regulus's eyes was genuine, his quiet support a beacon of comfort in her turmoil.

"I... I'm just worried about something," Ronnie admitted softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Regulus reached across the table, his fingers gently lifting her chin, coaxing her to meet his gaze. "Tell me what's wrong, Ronnie," he urged his voice a soothing balm to her troubled mind.
