When Marisa woke up the next day, the sun was shining through Scott's window onto her face. She could feel the warmth of his chest underneath her body, giving her the best kind of comfort.
Scott's hand traced up and down her left arm, getting her attention. She rose her head up, looking at him he lied wide awake just staring at her making her smile as she laid her head back down on his chest.
"How long have u been awake?" She asked groggily.
"Awhile" Scott answered with a sigh making Marisa chuckle
"U could have moved me" She told me making him chuckle underneath her
"I didn't want to" He told her, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her tighter against him as he traced my birthmark lightly with his fingertips "I'll never get over ur birthmark"
"Malia has it too, I figured out" She whispered, closing her eyes again with a smile as she wrapped her arm around him.
"It's cool" He told her, tracing it lightly with his fingers.
"So's the tattoo u got....for me" She hummed with a smile making her and Scott chuckle.
I win.
Marisa shivered against him, holding onto him tighter and Scott pulled the blanket over her, wrapping his arms around her. "What time is it?" She whispered.
"Six thirty" Scott whispered and Marisa let out a breath
"Half an hour?" She whispered, closing her tired eyes
"We're gonna be late for school" Scott chuckled underneath her
"So we'll be ten minutes late? Who cares?" Marisa smiled as she fought to keep her eyes open.
"Fine" Scott sighed "Deal" Scott nodded, smiling down at her as she fell back asleep, Scott lifting his head and placing a soft kiss on the top of her head.
She smelled like lavender. But not bitter lavender. She smelled sweet. Intoxicating.
And he could have stayed there holding her forever just as Marisa could have slept there in his arms forever.
"So, basically, we're looking for abnormal behavior?" Theo asked as he, Marisa and Scott stood together looking down at the court yard full of students
"Anyone acting a little off or a little weird" Scott nodded.
"Isn't everyone a little weird in highshool?" Marisa asked, turning her head to look at Scott just as he did her, the twos eyes catching, glueing to one another
"Thinking we got two Chimeras right here" Theo chuckle, pulling their attention from one another.
"Good point" Scott told Marisa before the three started down the stairs
"U remember Tracy went on a killing spree after reading that?" Theo pointed out, gesturing to the printed out version of the Dread Doctors book in Marisa's hands.
"U think it's a bad idea?" Scott asked worriedly
"I think I'd like to know what memory has been erased from my brain" Marisa shrugged casually as she glanced down at the book. "If only I didn't have to read to get it" she muttered.
"Well, I think Malia almost getting run down by a car couldve been bad." Theo shrugged "And Cora going off into the middle of the woods? I mean, if I wasn't there, shed have been alone, and any of us going off alone right now is dangerous. That's why u guys haven't finished it, right?"
"Uh..since when does he get to speak and we listen?" Marisa asked and Scott gave her a slight look as they continued to walk.
"We're going too" Scott told him
