Time stood still even when Marisa knew the world was moving at an ultra quick pace. She sat alone in her dark and cold bedroom, waiting, and she was never too good at waiting for anything.
As she sat there beside her phone, Derek was doing research on the name on her arm, trying to find them, but she couldn't do anything. She couldn't help her friends now. She couldn't help Derek.
She couldn't move.
Every-time her phone rang, she flinched, only to see Cora or Lydia's name on the screen, never Derek's.
So the hours went by, and Marisa sat there alone waiting.
And waiting.
And waiting—
"success."
"It's the full moon. We can feel it even during the day." Cora heard Scott say as she walked back into the room.
"I have to go find her, guys. I can't..."
"She's still not answering?" Theo stopped her, moving closer to her until he was blocking her sight of the others in the room.
"No. She brought someone back to life, and-and now she's just leaving? Somethings wrong." She paused, moving to see past Theo, her eyes finding Scott who stared at the ground. "I can't believe you just walked away from her like that when something was obviously happening!"
"Guys. This is not the time nor the place for this, so please..." Melisa stopped her, looking between them all as she hooked Hayden up to the iv.
"Did you try your brother? Maybe he's heard from her?" Theo spoke up again, gaining Cora's attention again.
"Yeah." She sighed, tapping her phone against her other hand. "That's what's making me worried. She did call him..." As she spoke those words, Scott raised his head, his eyes snapping to her. "And...he told me to stay here, not to worry about it, that he was gonna handle it...which obviously means something is happening."
"Well I know what's also happening..." Liam spoke up, making them all turn to him. "Hayden's dying." He stressed, glaring over at her. "And whatever's happening with Marisa...it's obviously not as serious, considering she just brought someone back to life..."
"But what if there's a price she has to pay for it now?" Theo asked, and Cora's eyes met Scott's.
"Then, that would make sense why she called Derek, and he said he's handling it." She breathed out.
"Then you should go." Scott told her, finally speaking. "You should go find her."
"No. You should go find her...right after you bite Hayden, because I know damn well it's what Marisa would have voted on..."
"Well, Marisa isn't here!" Scott snapped back. "She went crazy, distanced herself, did something totally insane and then bolted, leaving me alone here to make the decisions, and this is me making my decision, so I don't care what you think Marisa would have said. This is what I'm saying....it won't work."
"I can't be here anymore." Cora scoffed, sending Scott a look as she turned, starting for the door.
"Guys..." Theo started, looking between them all. "We're all a team here, remember? All of us." He pointed out as he backed away from them all before turning finally, following after Cora.
"Cora. Wait!" He called out as he pushed past the door.
"Look. I'm sorry, but I have to go see Allison. I need to know if she knows anything..."
"I know." He stopped her, unable to keep the ghost of a smile from forming as he approached her, running his hands up and down the sides of her arms. "I get it. You should go help your sister. I'll be here to help Hayden and Scott, but just call me if anything happens or if you need me at all. Okay?" He asked her, taking her hand and placing his car keys inside.
