-Sequel to Going Home-

[The vacation that Alhaitham promised indeed was fulfilled, but the joyous occasion ended in disarray when Kaveh found out about his husband’s little secret]

“Haiyi, look!” Kaveh is dazzling as always.

The bright smile on the blonde’s face was enough to end world hunger for Alhaitham. That smile alone can work miracles.
Indulging Kaveh’s wishes and going to Liyue was indeed such a brilliant idea.

With Azar 6 feet under no coffins included, and Sumeru is now back at its feet in both underworld and the normal citizens, Cyno and Alhaitham took it upon them and separately had a vacation with their spouse.

The two are now so sick of each other’s faces they need to detoxify from each other and bask in their lover’s angelic presence.

And it was surely nothing but bliss.

His lover prancing around the markets buying stuff here and there as he points at something to show Alhaitham with glee. It was enough for the exhaustion of the hunt with Azar melt like a puddle that’ll soon evaporate from the radiance his wife is giving.

Alhaitham could be happy like this all his life.

Happy with Kaveh.
Kaveh, the only source of his affection.

Can he even live without Kaveh at this point?

Alhaitham could only laugh at himself as he reach out for Kaveh’s oustreched ones, waiting for Alhaitham’s gloved hands to intertwined with his as they scour the night market of Liyue.

Yes. Alhaitham should be happy like this.

But at the back of his mind he knows, Kaveh needed to know the truth.
Kaveh deserved to know the truth.

And that scared Alhaitham more than anything else. The fear that Kaveh would end up scared, would end up anxious.

And he would leave.

“Haiyi? Sweetie?” Alhaitham’s gaze landed to Kaveh whose dainty arms wrapped around his torso, his mop of blonde hair bobbing as he snuggled to his husband’s chest his eyes gazing at Alhaitham with worry. “Something on your mind, love?”

Alhaitham’s gaze softened, all his fears fading away as he leaned down and capture the man’s lips with his own.
“I love you, with all my heart Kaveh.”

Tears welled up from Kaveh’s carmine hues as he cupped his husband’s face with his hand, his thumb caressing the man’s lips.
“I love you with everything I am Alhaitham.”

-

“Veh, my dove! I’m home.” The trip to Liyue ended a week ago and now it was back the game of hide the needle in the haystack for Alhaitham.
He wanted to tell him, he really wanted to.
He wanted to come clean, and beg for forgiveness for all the lies. Beg Kaveh to stay, not to leave him.

But the thought of Kaveh’s possible rejection made his tongue feel heavy in his lips whenever he try to talk to him.
It has been on his mind ever since Azar tried to attack his wife in his store. That his life as a head of an underworld organization will endanger Kaveh. And so Kaveh needed to know.

But Alhaitham can’t say anything.

“Veh?” Alhaitham stopped in his tracks upon seeing his husband seated in their dining table, food already consisting of both their favourite foods placed on the table still smoking hot. And his spouse, eyes away in a distance. As if something heavy is on his mind.

Slowly, Alhaitham approached the table and stopped just right behind his wife, he leaned down and gently lands a peck on Kaveh’s blonde locks inhaling the fragrant shampoo Kaveh always use.
The blonde flinched in his spot as he look up and smiled gently at Alhaitham.
