Dressed in all black, a dagger at his side, Virgil stood in the corner of the ballroom. It was the king's yearly celebration that held everyone in the kingdom.

He was a hired assassin. Hired to kill the king. He didn't know why, he didn't care why, he just needed the gold coming from it. He wasn't even from this kingdom, he was from the neighboring kingdom. A kingdom who apparently had a bad relationship with this kingdom.

Virgil had yet to see the king. He wasn't even sure what the king looked like, but he'll be easy to spot.

His eyes scanned the room, he went unnoticed for the most part, no seemed to care about his presence. Finally, he seen the king. His breath caught in his throat, he wasn't told the king was beautiful.

Tall, broad, and handsome was an understatement.

Virgil pushed those thoughts from his head, he was here to kill him, not drool over him.

He didn't notice the royal approaching him until he spoke. "May I ask why someone as pretty as you is standing all alone, lurking in the shadows." The king's voice was smooth, like silk. Virgil flushed some before rolling his eyes.

"It is none of your concern, leave me alone." He snapped, probably not the best idea speaking this to a king.

The king chuckled, "That is no way to speak to your king." The king rested his arms over Virgil's head, against the wall, trapping him in.

Virgil pushed his blush down, not letting the royal see him flustered. "You're not my king," The king cocked his brow and gave Virgil an odd look.

"What ever do you mean?" He asked. Virgil shrugged and pushed the king out of his way. He hoped the king would follow him, which he did, as he walked towards the doors that lead deeper into the castle. "Where do you think you are going? You not allowed here."

Virgil ignored him and walked into empty room. No guards, no witnesses.

Just as he wanted, the king followed his blindly. He closed the door behind them, his hand rested on his dagger.

"Your majesty," Virgil purred out, a confident facade carried him as he stepped close to the king, who took a step back. "It's so good to be alone with you."

The king barked a laugh, "If you wanted me, you could've just said that, darling." Virgil blushed and shook his head.

"I don't want you in the way you think, my king." He ran his hands up the other's chest. Feeling for any form of projection that would postpone his goal.

"Roman," Virgil looked at him surprised. "Call me Roman if we're gunna be alone like this." Virgil's lips worked up into a smile. "In what way do you want me?" Roman voice dropped to a lower, slightly seductive.

Virgil gave a small laugh, "Not in a way you'll enjoy." Roman gave him an odd look, confused.

Virgil gave one more smile before tearing the dagger from his hip and moving to stab it into Roman's neck. Roman caught his hand, shocking Virgil some, but he recovered quickly and freed his hand.

Roman dodged another swing from Virgil. He tried to wrestle the knife away from Virgil. Virgil hadn't expect Roman to be trained in self defense.

Roman knocked Virgil away from him, the dagger sliding on the floor. Virgil scrambled to grab it, his fingers wrapping around it as Roman pounced on top of him.

Roman caught his hand again as Virgil went to dig the dagger into him. Virgil growled some and ripped his hand from Roman, doing so he cut Roman's cheek.

Roman dropped the knife-less hand of Virgil's to touch his cheek, the crimson blood coated his fingers.

Virgil used this opportunity to rolled out from under Roman. He stood up quickly, breathing heavily. Roman was back to his feet just as fast as Virgil.

The two had a small standoff before Virgil made the first move. Roman close to the wall, as Virgil dived towards Roman. Roman was quick and flipping Virgil and held against the wall.

Both were panting hard, Roman had blood dripping down his cheek and onto his neck. Roman stared at Virgil, his breath was loud and hard, both from their fight and from being just plain pissed.

Virgil felt small in comparison to Roman, the king towered over him. Virgil was actually scared, he's now learned Roman could actually hurt him, he assumed the royal would be easy gold to collect. But now it was proven different, Virgil fought back tears.

Roman voice came out thick with venom, "What in hell is your problem!?" He yelled, "Who in their right mind would do that!? Why would you-! What is your motive!?"

Virgil shrunk back into himself, he didn't wanna speak, scared his voice would crack.

"Answer me! Answer your king!" Roman brought his hand up and slapped Virgil. It surprised Roman as well, but Virgil did try to kill him so it was fair. Roman was so mad at the boy, but the boy was so so pretty.

In the moment of his anger Roman pressed his lips against Virgil's roughly. It took a moment before Virgil returned it, but he soon melted into the kiss. They broke away breathless.

The kiss is what broke Virgil. He looked into Roman's eyes, as the tears fell from his. He didn't want them to, but the just poured out.

Roman was taken back, he was still mad, but he regretted his action of slapping the boy and the non-con kiss. He sighed and shushed the boy.

Virgil shook his head and wiggled in Roman's grip. Roman let him go and he slid to the ground, holding his knees to his chest. "I'm sorry!" He cried. Roman kneeled down in front of him. "I just- I was hired and I thought-thought it would be easy! B-but it wasn't. I just need-needed the gold! Don't hurt me again, please. I just- I'm sorry. Don't make me go back, they'll kill me for not completing the job!" His voice disappeared into a soft whimper. The sobs made his voice shake and crack.

Roman pitied the boy, "Shh, shh, it's okay, I'm okay, you're okay. I won't make you go back, you're safe here. Who were you hired by?" Roman brought Virgil into his arms and let him curl into his chest. He wiped the tears from Virgil's cheeks as he held him.

Virgil thought for a moment before mumbled the man's name who hired him. Roman nodded just before guards ran in. "Your majesty!" One of them yelled, "What happened!? Who is this!?"

Roman raised his hand to silence the guard. "This young man was forced to kill me, if he did not kill me then him and his family would perish." It was a lie yes, but who was gunna punish a king? "He will not punished, but go retrieve the man who hired him."

Roman gave them the name and they left the room. Roman held Virgil close, not letting him go. "Come on, doll, let me take you to my room."

Roman took the long way to his room, avoiding the guards and guest before reaching his bedroom. He placed Virgil on the bed and pressed a kiss to Virgil's forehead.

He sighed through his nose as he looked at the boy. He felt bad, he slapped the boy, granted it was slightly deserved but still he felt bad about it.

"What is your name?" Roman asked, only now realizing he didn't know. Wow, he kissed someone without knowing their name.

Virgil hesitated some before answering, "I'm Virgil," Roman smiled at him and nodded.

"Virgil," He purred out. "That's a beautiful name, dear." Roman smirked at the blush he caused to raise to Virgil's cheeks. He had to admit, Virgil was pretty as a doll.

Roman decided that Virgil was going to stay there. The man that hired Virgil was caught and executed.

Roman quickly fell in love the snarky assassin, he was really glad Virgil hadn't killed him. Because if he did, he couldn't experience everything he is right now.

Sorry the ending is so shit, I didn't know how to end it.
