The Tower's interrogation room was silent, broken only by the sound of the traitor, now a prisoner, breathing heavily. Lía, Ana and Marcos watched him from the other side of a one-way glass, while a team of interrogators tried to obtain more information.
"It's not going to be easy," Marcos said quietly. —He is convinced that his cause is just.
"We have to make him talk," Lía responded, her gaze fixed on the traitor. —If there are more bases and operations of this organization, we need to know where they are.
As the interrogators continued, Lía reflected on what the traitor had said. She had mentioned forces at play that went beyond what they could imagine. What kind of power could this organization have to manipulate so many?
Suddenly, one of the interrogators walked out of the room, a worried expression on his face.
"He says that he will talk only to Lía," he announced.
Lía exchanged a look with Ana and Marcos before nodding and entering the interrogation room. The traitor, whose name was Ricardo, looked up and smiled weakly.
"I knew you'd come," he said hoarsely.
Lía sat across from him, maintaining a neutral expression.
—What do you want to tell me, Ricardo? —He asked, trying to remain calm.
Ricardo leaned forward, his eyes shining brightly.
"There is something you should know about the history of NeoLumen," he said. —Something that was buried and forgotten by many.
Lía frowned, interested despite herself.
-Keep going.
"Decades ago, before the Supreme Council took power, NeoLumen was a prosperous city, full of hope and progress," Ricardo began. —But there was a group of individuals, a secret elite, who saw the city's potential as a threat to their global control. They created the Council and manipulated events to make it look like a revolution from within.
Lía listened attentively, trying to process the information.
"That group of individuals is the same one that is behind the attacks now," Ricardo continued. —They have always been in the shadows, controlling and manipulating, making sure NeoLumen never fully rises.
—And what do they gain from all this? —Lía asked, skeptical.
"Absolute power and control," Ricardo responded. —For them, NeoLumen is an experiment, a social and political laboratory. They want to create a model that they can replicate elsewhere, a model of total control.
Lía felt a chill run down her spine. If what Ricardo said was true, they were facing a much larger and more organized enemy than they had imagined.
—How can we stop them? "She," she finally asked.
Ricardo smiled sadly.
—Destroying their communication network and bases. Cutting off their resources and dismantling their power structure. But it won't be easy. They have eyes and ears everywhere.
Lía nodded, understanding the magnitude of the task ahead of them.
"Give us the locations of their bases," she said, her voice firm. —And we will do everything possible to stop them.
Ricardo nodded, beginning to give details about the organization's different locations and operations. As she spoke, Lía felt a mixture of hope and determination.
As she left the interrogation room, she ran into Ana and Marcos, who had been listening.
"We have a plan," said Lía. —But we need to be fast and precise. Every minute we lose, they gain an advantage.
Ana nodded.
—We are already organizing the teams. We will split up and attack the bases simultaneously.
Mark added:
—We also need to secure our communications and make sure we are not intercepted.
Lía nodded, grateful for the efficiency of her team.
"This is our chance to strike hard and dismantle their network," she said, looking at them both determinedly. —We will not let them destroy what we have built.
The operation began that same night. The teams were deployed to different parts of the city and beyond, moving with stealth and precision. Lía led the main team, heading to the central base that Ricardo had identified as the heart of the enemy operation.
As she approached the base, a fortified structure hidden in a forest on the outskirts of NeoLumen, Lía felt the adrenaline pumping through her veins. She knew this was all or nothing.
"Remember, our priority is to dismantle their communications and take the leaders alive if possible," she told her team.
They entered the base, facing well-trained guards. The fight was intense, but Lía and her team advanced with determination. Finally, they arrived at the control room, where they found several leaders of the organization.
Lía pointed her gun at one of them, a woman with a steely gaze.
"It's the end of the game," Lía said, her voice firm. —Give up and let's get this over with.
The woman smiled coldly.
"You don't understand what you've started," she said. —This is just one battle in a much larger war.

Lía did not hesitate.
—Maybe, but today, NeoLumen wins this battle.
With those words, she ordered her team to secure the leaders and destroy the communication systems. As the explosions shook the base, Lía felt a spark of hope. She knew the fight was far from over, but this was a crucial step in ensuring a free and fair future for NeoLumen.
The battle for freedom continued, and Lía was willing to lead the way to the end.
