Cobalt Rose: Interesting Facts

So obviously we have to talk about the first story in the series, 'Cobalt Rose'.

First thing you can tell in every chapter in the series has an A.K.A. Title, which is usually some funny and teasing title. These were inspired by an old fanfiction which I sadly can't remember the name of, but I remember that it involved a love triangle between Sonic, Amy, and Shadow that ended with Sonic and Shadow getting together. It was a humorous story honestly.

From the moment I knew what Cobalt Rose was going to be and I knew what I wanted to write, it took me an entire month to actually work up the energy to start it.

Chapter 1 starts of on a stormy day. Yes, when I actually started on this story, a storm was passing through on that day in June. The TV (My Dad had Dish Network, so whenever it so much as got wet, it went out) was out, and all we could do was sit there and listen to the rain pour down.

Cobalt Rose was not supposed to be 16 separate stories. It was all supposed to be one giant book. After finishing Chapter 25, I took about 2 months off and almost stopped writing the story altogether, but instead, I decided to split it up into multiple stories. It eventually was only supposed to go to three, then eight, then 15, then 16.

The super short chapters are more or less from me having a short attention span, which at the time of me typing this up (April 22, 2024), it's getting better. Don't believe me, read my stories like 'Labels' and 'Change My Life Baby'. 'Labels' should have some sequels by now maybe.

The stories are written out on paper and are eventually typed out by me to upload to Wattpad, and then eventually up to FanFiction.net. It's a tedious process, but one I don't mind making.

In Chapter 5, Amy's outfit that she buys for the date is a based off of Blaze's outfit for the date in Chapter 2 of the SonAze Fanfiction 'From Friends To Parents: A Hedgehog's Wish' (which can be read here: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7369643/1/From-Friends-to-Parents-A-Hedgehog-s-Wish). Blaze wears this outfit in Chapter 19 of this story in an obvious rip from the story in question.

Emerald City technically isn't an official locale in any Sonic Lore, but it feels like it belongs in the Sonic series, so that's why it was chosen for the date's location in Chapter 6. Maybe one day it'll be official, but until then, it can be the city of the fandom.

There wasn't any way I wasn't going to pass up a reference of 'Sonic Unleashed', that being Spagonia and Adabat, my two favorite locals from my favorite game of all time.

The Lemon in Chapter 7 was only the second time I had ever written one.

There were originally 4th Wall breaks in the series, the first being in Chapter 22, but I removed them because I felt as if they were forced comedy and did nothing for the story.

I jumped the gun way too soon by making Amy pregnant after just one night.
