blueberry muffins (todoroki x reader)

ch 8

for the next few weeks Todoroki would visit the coffee shop almost everyday around 3 pm. and everytime, he ordered a black coffee with a blueberry muffin.

a few times, Todoroki would come back a few minutes before your shift was over and would walk you home. you finally learned to keep the curtains shut at your house so that Todoroki wouldn't see inside at your father and his difficulties. you were embarrassed at what you have to deal with.

but you could tell that Todoroki did not judge you or your situation, and every time you walked home with him, you became more comfortable with sharing parts of your life that you have never told anyone before, not even Jade.

but you figured that you should keep some stuff to yourself so that you don't scare him away instantly with all your trauma.

it was the day before Todoroki and UA would start their internships, meaning, that Todoroki wouldn't have as much time to visit the cafe, or walk you home.

"so you're gonna work with your dad? that sounds pretty cool. you can learn more about how to control your fire quirk!" you ecstatically say to Todoroki.

you were walking home during the sunset.

"well, of course i want to become stronger, but my dad is such a dick. always pushing me to use my left side, even though i don't want to" Todoroki said while looking up at the clouds. you looked over at him and he let out a little sigh.

there was a slight pause. "i've been meaning to ask, what is your quirk?" Todoroki asked while looking over at you.

your face instantly lit up. it's been so long since you've been able to talk about your quirks freely. you can never talk to your father about it, and you always feared speaking about your quirks to other people, fearing that somehow, someone would tell your father.

most people didn't even know you had a quirk since you never used it or talked about it.

you noticed that you and Todoroki were starting to near your house. before you got near the yard, you grabbed Todoroki's hand and walked across the street to the other side. Todoroki was confused about what was going on, but he figured you would explain yourself sooner or later.

you walked a few houses down until you and Todoroki turned the corner and were met with a small park within the neighborhood. you were still holding Todoroki's hand, but he didn't mind it all.

you stopped in front of the park and then looked down at your hand, still holding Todoroki's.

"oh sorry" you blurted out while letting go, a small blush creeping onto your face.

"i didn't mind." Todoroki stated bluntly. he didn't realize how those words affected you. poor guy has no social skills, i fear.

Todoroki looked at the playground with a questioning look on his face. then, he looked back at you, only, you were no longer standing next to him. he looked around, pretty worried about where you were since you were literally standing next to him a second ago.

"hey! up here!" you waved at Todoroki from on top of the playground. Todoroki was extremely confused. he kept looking back and forth between where you were standing on the playground, and where you were just standing next to him.

suddenly, you reappeared next to him again. Todoroki slightly jumped and put his arms up in self defense mode when you spawned next to him.

"i can teleport! isn't that so cool?" you said. you were basically jumping up and down.

"that's amazing." was all Todoroki could say. he was amazed at how lucky you were with that quirk. he thought about how you would make an amazing hero with such abilities.

Todoroki looked down and saw your hand outstretched to his.

"hold my hand and close your eyes" you demanded.

Todoroki gave you a questioning look, but complied.

he grabbed your hand lightly and as soon as Todoroki closed his eyes, you teleported so that you were both now standing on top of the playground. Todoroki opened his eyes and looked around quickly. you were staring at him with big, hopeful eyes.

"wow" Todoroki was speechless. you let go of his hand and began explaining some details about your quirk.

"i realized that if i teleport someone and they have their eyes open, it can give them extreme vertigo. teleporting doesn't have that kind of effect on me though!" you continued describing one of your quirks. Todoroki was watching your every movement, noting how, when you were excited about something, you would talk extremely fast and use your hands a lot.

"but... teleporting takes a lot of energy, so the more or the further I teleport, the more energy it takes. if i push myself too hard with it, then i could faint. but luckily that's never happened. i've been pretty close though" you chuckle, remembering one time in particular where you decided to teleport to as much as you could at your house. you would teleport to an area, then immediately teleport to a different area within your eyesight. after about the 15th teleportation, you could feel your legs growing tired and your eyelids began to fall. all you needed to do was take a quick nap in order to get your energy back.

"AND! i can shoot energy blasts. kind of like that guy who you battled against at the Sports Festival. watch"

you teleported to the ground while Todoroki stared at you from the playground. he leaned his arms against the slide and rested his chin on his hand while you walked towards a tree. you assumed fighting position, with both your fist raised. you punched and a bright light blue light emerged from your arm, travelled to your fist, and then shot towards the tree. it blasted a hole through the tree before evaporating into the air.

you turned around and gave Todoroki two thumbs up, to which, he gave a thumbs up back. however, the tree was beginning to break since there's a giant fucking hole in it's trunk. you heard the tree begin creaking behind you, so you turned around and looked up, met with the tree quickly descending towards you.
