your eyes slowly flutter open.

you look over to where Todoroki was sitting. his head was laying on the bed and his hands were grabbing yours. he was dead asleep.

you smile at him and grab your phone with your other hand and begin to respond to some notifications.

you were still on your phone when you felt Todoroki shift next to you. you looked over and saw him look up at you. his chin resting on the bed.

"good morning" you say, it was 7 pm.

"is it really?" Todoroki asks while looking around.

"no it's 7 pm" you chuckle.

Todoroki sits up and lets out a sigh.

"when did they say you could leave?" Todoroki asks. he lets go of your hand.

you shrug, "i don't know. they said it would be a few hours. that was a few hours ago. i think they're keeping me for observation." you say disappointedly.

"maybe that's good. they want to make sure you're okay" Todoroki says while checking his phone.

just as your beginning to sit yourself up, a nurse walks in and turns on the lights.

"good you're awake! ms l/n you are free to go! i was going to discharge you a few hours ago, but i saw you sleeping and figured that some rest could count as recovery. if you're comfortable to walk, then you just need to sign some paperwork, grab your belongings, and you're outta here!" the nurse says.

"oh okay. thank you!" you say to the nurse as they leave.

Todoroki turns to you. "do you have a ride home?" he asks.

you pause to think for a second.

"no. i guess not. probably not a good idea to ask my dad." you chuckle.

Todoroki looks at you and then at the ground, not really knowing if he was allowed to laugh at that or not.

"i drove here, so i can take you home, if you want" Todoroki suggests.

"oh wow, that would be great. thank you." you say to Todoroki, feeling like the thousandth time you've thanked him today.

"don't worry about it. do you need help getting out of the bed?" Todoroki asks. he puts his arms out for you to grab.

you grip his forearms and groan as you sit up on the edge of the bed. your ribs hurt and your head was throbbing a little.

"i can stand up" you say. you were mostly saying that to convince yourself that you're able to stand up.

Todoroki took a step back, but he was close enough to catch you if you needed help.

The nurse came back a few seconds later with your belongings - your clothes, which were a little bloodied.

you changed in the restroom. luckily you were wearing shorts, t-shirt, and slip-on shoes, so it wasn't too straining. you left the restroom and were gripping your ribs since they still ached, but you were strong enough to walk. Todoroki stayed close to your side, in case you needed his help.

The nurse gave you some pills and you signed a few papers.

you walked to the parking lot with Todoroki. thankfully, the lot was right outside the hospital. Once you got to the car, Todoroki opened the door for you and helped you get in.

the silence in the car was comfortable. Todoroki drove a little slower than normal so that you wouldn't be uncomfortable with hitting bumps or swerves.

"Todoroki" you broke the silence first. "thank you. again. i feel like I'm saying this for the five hundredth time" you chuckle, "but i mean it. thank you for being there" you say as you look up to Todoroki.

he glances over to you for a second, then averted his eyes back to the road.

"don't worry about it. im just glad you're okay. i was pretty worried" he says, glancing at you at the end of his sentence.

you take a deep breath and look out the window. it was nighttime, and you had missed 3 days of your life. you've never been out that long before.

Todoroki snaps you out of your thoughts.

"what are the pills for?" he asks.

"oh. they're fast acting healing pills. the nurse said that i should feel better with only two doses. so hopefully by this time tomorrow i'll be good." you say.

"we're at your your house" Todoroki says as he points out the window. his car is parked in front of your driveway.

he turns off the car and walks to the passenger side to open the door for you. you are able to get out pretty easily since you're used to the random bursts of pain.

you walk to the front door and jiggle the handle before realizing that the door is locked.

"oh shit" you whisper, under your breath.

"what's wrong?" todoroki asks.

"i don't have a key... wait" you say while turning around. you walk across the yard to an area that has a few rocks, picking up one, shaking it, and then putting it down.

finally you hear a jingle inside of a rock. you twist off the top of the rock and find a spare set of keys for the house.

"aha!" you yell while holding up the key, before immediately wincing in pain and reaching down to grab your ribs.

"ouch" you say while walking back to the front door.

Todoroki was still standing there with a confused look on his face.

you unlock the door and walk in, seeing blood on the carpet and tile. you walk to the kitchen and grab a glass of water before taking one of the pills that the nurse gave you.

meanwhile, Todoroki was sitting on your sofa, watching your movements.

"do you want anything to eat? or drink?" you ask from the kitchen.

"no. i'm good. thank you." Todoroki responds.

"you don't have to stay, Todoroki" you say. "i'm good now. and i'm sure you have to sleep before school tomorrow" you say while walking to the sofa.

you plop down on the sofa and lean your head back on the backrest. Todoroki looks over at you and does the same.

you both sit there for a few seconds. you were thinking about the events that have happened over the past few days until you hear Todoroki call your name.
