ch 15

"Y/n?" Todoroki asks, alerting you to lift your head from the sofa.

you raise your eyebrows at him as a signal for Todoroki to continue.

"listen... um" Todoroki paused between these words, finding it harder to say each word that comes out of his mouth.

"i wanted to tell you this earlier, but i couldnt find the words to" he takes a little breath, never looking at your eyes.

"is everything okay?" you ask while moving a little closer to him on the sofa.

"do you know what quirk marriages are?" he asks and you nod your head.

"i, and my 3 siblings are a result of a quirk marriage. my father married my mother because of her quirk. he figured that his fire quirk and her ice quirk would produce the perfect heroes. and out of my siblings, I'm the only one who inherited both. because of that, my father pushed me, extremely hard. and he would get frustrated with me, and... he would... treat me the way your father treats you" he looks up for a second into your eyes. he finds it hard to look at you and explain this, so he averts his eyes back down to his lap.

"my mother" he pauses, "she put up with my father for so long... and one day, she finally snapped" he reaches up and touches the scar over his left eye.

"my mother poured boiling water on my left side. she said... my left side looked too much like my father, and it reminded her everytime she looked at me, of what my father has done to her." Todoroki pauses and looks up to you.

your eyes are wide and confused. you couldn't believe that was the story behind his scar. you nod for Todoroki to continue talking, but when you notice that he doesn't, you place your hand gently over his, rubbing little circles with your thumb.

"you said a few weeks ago that scars don't define who you are. and you're right... this doesn't define who i am, but it does show what i've been through, and why im here now" he says while looking up at you. his face looks emotionless, but you can tell that it took a lot of courage and trust for Todoroki to share this with you.

you gently smile at him.

"your scar shows how strong you are. you're going to be an amazing hero, Todoroki." you say while looking into his eyes.

"Shoto, you can call me Shoto" he says, looking deeply into your e/c eyes.

"okay, Shoto" you say, his name smoothly leaving your lips.

he feels like he can trust you, especially since he's been there for you, and now you've been there for him.

Todoroki stood up off of the sofa and checked his phone.

"i should get going. it's late" he says while you also stand up off of the sofa.

you lead Shoto to the front door and unlock it before turning around. you wrap your arms around Shoto's neck and place the side of your head on his shoulder. it takes Shoto a second to realize what was happening, and when he does, he places his arms around you.

you felt Shoto tuck his head into your shoulder. you could feel him physically relax his body into yours. Shoto took a deep breath in and wrapped his arms tighter around your waist. you could feel his abs press against your stomach.

you remove your arms from Shoto's neck and expected Shoto to also remove his arms, too. however, Shoto continued to keep his head tucked into your shoulders and his arms wrapped around your waist.

you lean your head and shoulders back while moving one of your hands to scratch through Shoto's hair.

"Shoto" you whisper.

this caused Shoto to lift his head and look into your eyes. one of your hands moves to cup Shoto's cheek while his hands lightly grip your waist.

"i should get going" Shoto says quietly, even though his arms are still wrapped around your body. you nod your head, your faces only inches apart.

Shoto takes a step back and turns around to open the front door. you stand in the doorway and watch Shoto take a step outside.

"text me when you wake up tomorrow" Shoto says.

"okay i will. have a good night" you smile and wave to Shoto to which Shoto waves back and walks to his car.

you shut the door and lock it before turning around and freaking the fuck out. you quietly giggle and jump around because of the hug. you reminisce on what it felt like to hold Shoto and smell his faint cologne.

after this little freak out, you go to your bathroom and shower before getting in bed. you decide to text Shoto, but you see a text from him first.
