"She is my spouse, Bea De Leon."

Spouse?

Shock was an understatement to describe Dean Wong's feeling now. It felt more like a bombshell that suddenly dropped onto him. He first met Caitlin in La Salle University many years ago before she moved to Manila and he left to UK to further his studies. He couldn't contain his excitement when he met her again after he was transferred to Medical Mission Hospital few months ago. He thought their reunion was a fate and there will be a chance for them to take a step further in their relationship. But he didn't know she has already... married. His dream has completely vanished now.

Although it was just a quick and tiny change of expression on his face, but Bea still noticed it. She smirked at the shocked expression etched across Dean Wongs's face the moment Caitlin introduced her as her spouse. For the first time she felt so good to be introduced as this position. Childish... yes, she admit she is childish but she just couldn't help but feel good. She was right. This man is very interested in her wife. Interesting.

To everyone's surprise, Bea took the initiative to shake Dean Wong's hand first. "Nice meeting you, Doc Wong. It was my rudeness for not introducing myself for the first time we meet. Thank you so much for taking good care of Daniel..." She paused as moved closer to Caitlin. "... and my wife."

Caitlin held her breath at Bea's last word and felt a shiver ran down her spine. Maybe no one in the room could hear the strangeness in her words but she could clearly hear the difference. She stole a sideway glance at her, and although she looked polite and calm, she could still recognized the dangerous gaze in her eyes. Something is not right.

Bea turned her head slightly to look at Caitlin and smirked at her unnatural expression. She is nervous, she can feel it by just standing close to her. Looking back at Dean Wong again, she let out a small smile. "I heard Caitlin said you are her senior in the medical school. Are you from University of Santo Tomas? I'm from there too but I don't remember seeing you before."

A sharp breath escaped Caitlin's breath upon hearing Bea's question. So, this is the main reason for the whole thing.

"I'm not from University of Santo Tomas." Dean Wong shook his head as he glanced at Shin Hye. "We met at La Salle University. I was in my final year when Doctor Caitlin just entered the medical school. She then moved to Manila and I went to UK to further my studies. We meet again after I joined this hospital few months ago."

Almost for an instant, Bea's face darkened and the smile slowly faded away. "So... you were the one." She said in a deep and soft whisper, but loud enough for Caitlin to hear it. Her heart raced tremendously and she knows another misunderstanding rises again.

"I... beg your pardon." Dean looked at Bea, couldn't hear what she said.

Bea faked a smile and shook her head. "Nothing." Taking a deep breath, she continued again. "There are so many hospitals in Manila but both of you could still ended up and reunion in the same hospital. It must be fate, right?"

As if understand the meaning behind those words, Dean let out an embarrassed smile and took a quick glance at Caitlin, who looked uneasy too. To prevent the awkward atmosphere to continue, he turned to Jhoanna. "Take a good rest for another one night and I'll sign the paper for Daniel to discharge tomorrow."

Jhoanna bowed politely at Dean Wong, a gesture showing her appreciation for him. "Thank you very much, Doctor Wong."

"You are welcome. This is my job." Dean Wong returned her smile before glancing at his watch. "I need to go now. I still need to make rounds for other patients."

"Goodbye, Doctor Wong." Daniel waved his hand.

"Goodbye, Daniel." Doctor Wong smiled at him before he looked back at Bea and Caitlin. He gave them a soft nod and quickly exited the room.
