On the other hand, after Caitlin and Jessie came out from Isabelle's room, they went down to the lobby. Caitlin was very quiet and looked like she was in her deep thought as they were heading towards the cafeteria. Jessie didn't say anything and just followed quietly from behind.

But when he saw Caitlin almost hit herself at a pillar, he quickly rushed over and pulled her towards him. "Be careful!"

His voice suddenly rang in her ears and shook her off from her deep thoughts. She bit her lip hard as she held her face down. "T-Thank you."

Jessie sighed helplessly as he slowly let go of her and asked in concern. "Are you okay?"

"I-I'm fine." Caitlin forced out a weak smile and nodded softly. "The cafeteria is just at the corner." She quickly changed the topic to prevent him to ask further. But just when she wanted to turn around and continue to walk, Jessie held her wrist to stop her.

"Actually... I was just lying just now. I'm not hungry yet." He said, his lips quirked up in a warm smile. "To be honest, I don't like hospital, especially the smell here. Let's go outside and get some fresh air."

Caitlin slowly looked up at him and nodded her head. She doesn't want to be in the crowded and noisy cafeteria too.

Jessie doesn't know how much time has passed since they sat down on the long bench at the hospital garden. He just sat there with her and silently keeps her accompanied.

"Thank you." Caitlin's soft voice finally broke the silence.

Jessie turned to look at her in confusion. "For what?" He didn't do anything.

"First... thank you for answering my call and came to us last night. Without you... I'm not even sure I'm calm enough to send Isabelle to the hospital myself." She held his gaze and let out a small smile. "And second... thank you for sitting here with me without asking me any question."

"Hmmm..." Jessie smiled. "If I say... I actually wanted to ask but just not dare to do so..." He paused and chuckled softly. "... will you be angry with me?"

Caitlin smiled too and looked away without saying anything.

"Although I don't know what happened between Bea and you, but looking at the way she behaved around you just now, I can sense something is changing between the two of you." He said again.

Changing? Caitlin silently laughed at herself, feeling pity at the same time. "Before last night, I thought the same too."

Jessie looked back at her, patiently waiting for her to continue.

Caitlin inhaled a deep breath. "Two months ago... you wouldn't know how happy I was when she suddenly asked me whether I want to try and have a new start with her. At that moment, I suddenly felt the tears I had shed and all the sacrifice I had made all these years are worth it. The woman that I love since the first time I saw her has finally notice my existence and wanted to try a new life with me." She chuckled sadly as tears began to pool and sting her eyes. "But all these dreams vanished the moment she let go of my hand when she saw Jhoanna. If she really meant what she say, if she really wanted to start anew with me, she won't let go of my hand, right?"

Jessie held his breath, staring at the sad and pity woman without knowing how to answer her question. She seems to be right. If you really love a woman, you will not let go of her hand no matter what happened.

"If those two months never exists, if she never had given me all those promises and hopes, maybe... maybe I wouldn't feel so painful now. It will just be another night without her like what it used to be in all these years." She continued, her voice trembling as she spoke.
