"Damn, I've never been to a dance competition before." Blake said as she sat next to her mother, who was sitting next to Daryl.
Rin was backstage, but her group dance was next, and Blake couldn't wait to see her girlfriend. Seeing her dance was rare unless she was doing some acrobatic tricks in the skate park occasionally. Darren and Darlene were new to this, but they were excited.
"Well, ya get to experience yer first one." Daryl said with a smile.
Merle wasn't there yet, but he was on his way. Daryl made sure to tell Rin that he messaged her just a few minutes ago. Honestly, no one would be surprised if he didn't show up.
Soon Merle did, just the last minute, and Rin's dance teacher was in front of them, along with the other parents, Merle managed to show up just a minute into the group dance.
"What did I miss?" Merle asked.
"Just started, yer lucky."
Merle scoffed at Daryl's pettiness and watched as his niece dances on stage with the other dancers. Merle took out his phone and went on his camera app to record the dance even though it was late.
"You sure ya want this video?"
"Sure, little brotha."
Blake shushed the brothers and continued to watch the dance. She thought the dance was great. It was extremely captivating, and Blake couldn't take her eyes off Rin.
Soon, it was time for Rin's solo. Her name had just been called. Blake would be lying if she said that Rin never looked more beautiful, so elegant and badass at the same time. The music started, and the song was another version of 'Bulletproof' so that it matched the genre of the dance. Rin had mentioned that it was supposed to be another song, but Abby changed it.
It was now about halfway through the dance when Rin had suddenly stopped for a split second before dancing again. It was obvious that she had forgotten the dance, which only never happened in her fourteen years of dancing.
Daryl glanced at Abby, who had now hidden her face with her hands. He didn't know whether she was disappointed or upset. Without saying a word, Daryl got out of his chair and went backstage.
"Daryl, where are you going?" Darlene asked.
"I have to be there with 'er."
Darlene didn't ask anything else as Daryl was already gone. She saw Rin freeze up there. She must be so upset, even Blake wanted to see her, but Darlene wouldn't let her, so she just sat there and typed a message to her to see later on while in the green room - or whatever it was - she couldn't be there physically which disappointed her.
