The earth rumbled, cracking apart. If the stars weren't able to do something to stop this, everything would be swallowed whole. Achernar's father stopped and froze as he sank back into the shadows, taking his army of evil forces with him.
"What just happened?" Naos asked. The stars were grateful but confused. Achernar's gaze darkened. "Consider this an act of mercy or else we all would have been killed just now. I do not know what my abhorrent father is planning, but—" The demon burst out into a fit of coughs before he could finish what he was saying. Malevolent whispers embedded around them. "Let me out... Don't be fooled. Release me!" The eerie voices could be heard saying. After a moment, the rumbling had stopped. Sunlight shone down on the stars. People came out of their homes in a frenzy of panic seeing the damages done to Esther's neighborhood. The stars were thankful they hadn't noticed or come outside earlier.
Police sirens and ambulances wailed. "Quick, let's get outta here before news reporters start showing up." Spica said. "Allow me," Achernar summoned dark mist from his tainted aura, the black fog masking each of the stars from the eyes of the public. They all began to sink down into the shadows, traveling far away from the commotion. Achernar teleported them to his place. "My mistake. I meant to take you stars back to Esther's. No matter, make yourselves comfy or go your own way back..." He coughed and collapsed, Leigh being the one to catch his oldest half brother before Achernar could hit the floor.
None of the stars spoke, they were too much in shock at what had just happened. And to travel through shadows with a demon was a terrifying experience. The angels' skins burned, tingling but there were no taints on them. Achernar's father could have killed them all. He was about to until something else called out from the very depths of hell. If that was enough to scare Achernar's father off, it couldn't be good. They would be dealing with something far worse. Orion helped Leigh with bringing Achernar upstairs. The demon was out cold, having exerted the last bit of energy and power he had to transport them away from there. He must have been so tired and not being able to think clearly of where to go that he mistakenly brought them to his place instead of back to Esther's home. Rigel followed, Aljanah being behind him as the seventh deadly sin of wrath had to cauterize Achernar's wounds again. Naos and Spica went to the secret hidden doorway leading to the demon's basement lair to fetch some anesthesia. Vega kept them company for good measure. To say that would be a pure understatement. The seventh deadly sin of lust was there to send any evil lurking back to hell. Gluttony and greed had nothing to fear, for lust was there to protect them in place of their wrath who was busy at the moment being too preoccupied with helping save an enemy who wasn't quite surely a foe yet.
Leigh handed the deadly sins of gluttony and greed the key to unlock it, having found it from his eldest brother's pockets. Even though Achernar wasn't conscious, none of the stars wanted to inflict more pain onto his already wounded body full of injuries inflicted by his own father. It would be a horrible nightmare for Achernar to wake up to being burned and having his wounds scorched. He'd probably die, not being able to survive in the bad condition he was in.
