We all stand in shock as we see Teardrop pointing the zap ray at us with fear and... a but of anger in her eyes.

Two puts their hands up. "Woah! Teardrop! It's just us!" They shout, trying to get her to not shoot. It works, thankfully, as she quickly puts away the zap ray and does a silent apology. I understand why she did it, with all these dangerous monsters, it's easy to get killed, or at the very least hurt.

"Oh, phew." X said calmly as Two put their hands down. Though, I had a different question.

"Where are the others?" I said with concern. Two and X appear to realize that. "Yeah, where are the others?" Two repeats.

Teardrop appears to look behind herself. She turns back to face us and appears to struggle finding the right name signs, before ending up just doing hat one motion where you slide your finger across your neck. It's either that most of them are dead or that Teardrop was the only contestant alive... I hope the former.

"Wait... they died!?" Two exclaims. She appears to do sign language that I quickly understood. She told us the contestants were seperated, and some of them died, and that they're inside the forest.

"What happened?" I ask, feeling worry.

Teardrop appears to pause, before telling us that there were these insect monsters that attacked them. Those bugs were the first thing that came to my mind. Bugs, bugs, bugs... of course it's bugs.

"Those bugs..." Two mumbles to themselves. I mumble the same thing.

X simply just tenses up for a moment before they grab me and put me on their shoulders. "We should leave. We can't stay here" They say, going deeper into the woods. Both Two and Teardrop just follow behind, not arguing. They're right. We can't stay here.

We just end up walking in awkward silence for a few hours, no luck in finding anything as we walk in one straight path.

While we walked, I saw Two snapping their fingers every now and then. It was annoying, but they do have powers. But still...

"Stop doing that." I said to Two, annoyed. "You do realize we aren't alone in the forest right?"

"What do you mean?" X said, confused. Teardrop is seen shrugging.

"They can hear us, idiot. The insects and those... uhm... that thing that looked like me when it came out of Snowball." Two seemed to know what I was talking about, but not X and Teardrop, though.

"Oh, that makes sense. I'm trying to help you... with your broken leg, and all." Two reasons.

"Whatever." I scoffed, going back to looking ahead.

And how convenient it was that right after that, we all heard rustling from the trees beside us. We all froze and watched, backing away slowly. I look over to see Teardrop pointing the zap ray at it.

...

And then I saw something jump onto her and attack her, causing her to squirm and shoot in random directions, disintegrating the trees.

It was... the tiny, monster version of me from earlier. Way earlier. Same tail and horns and... everything.

But this time it wasn't just one. As the mist emerges from the depths of the woods, more of those things began to jump out from trees and bushes and... everywhere around us, pouncing and biting us.

We were so overwhelmed that we couldn't get anywhere, and X ends up dropping me. I groan in pain as my bad leg stings due to the pain.

"Go! Run!" X says, as they run the opposite direction while those thing get on top of them.

I end up crawling into a nearby bush in a panic, yet I was able to look back. I see how, while Two and X fled with those abominations chasing and end clinging onto them, I focused on Teardrop, who was struggling to get many of those things off of her. I saw how they first attacked her body, which made them end up going through her, but then one of them forced itself into her mouth...

I witness in terror as she appears to get incredibly sick, her liquid body turning black as she expands while those monsters jump off of her... and just like that in a matter of seconds, she explodes into black goo, the zap ray falling the ground with the rest of the creatures.

A soft gasp escapes my mouth, but I quickly cover it, trying not to get the attention of those creatures as they scout around and sniff the air. If I make noise, I would die with her. I'm powerless against them...

...

Those things just hop the other direction as they go after X and Two, not even notcing me somehow. And once they do... I'm now alone. Alone again... but atleast I'm not in danger, I guess.

...

I just end up awkwardly crawling out of the bush, peeking my head out first and looking around for anything off before going out in the open. All that's left was a few branches and leaves, the puddle of goo, the dissipating mist... and the zap ray.

The zap ray.

I may not have powers, but it'll definitely come in handy. I crawl over to reach for it, but I end up putting my hand into the goo instead. I yelp in pain as I pull my hand out of it. It's scorching hot. I look at my hand and see the goo falling off, revealing severe burns on my hands. And... then I look at the zap ray in the puddle of goo and I see that it's being damaged.

I sigh in frustration. Oh come on...

...

I just end up crawling back into the bushes and just lay there, having nothing to do.

I roll over and face the sky, barely visibly through the leaves. I can see... the fog returning, but just barely. I am curious to why the fog had suddenly disappeared in the first place...

More importantly... why did this happen to us? Why do we have to deal with this? If this thing had never appeared, if this meteor had never crashed... everything was normal. Why did it have to change.

I groan in frustration as I cover my face with my hands, my anger muffled. I just keep thinking the same thing, over and over... why did this happen to us?

...

I just sigh again, before I leave the bushes to go and explore. Now I have to crawl with one hand... my burned hand doesn't sting as much but I'd rather not use it at all than having to constantly feel pain every 3 seconds.

And the second I exit the bush, I freeze, hearing something approaching. I go silent as I hear a voice in the distance, followed by the sound of soft, distant footsteps.

"Hello? Is someone there?"
