Chapter 16

We arrived home and the heat was coming down heavy, it was becoming unbearable.

"It's getting hot" I looked up to see Jaden wiping sweat off his forehead. We were unloading the car.

"Sorry Soph I can't do this!" He said and took off his top, even his defined abs looked hot and tired.

I laughed "your like an old woman" I tested him.

"Is she beautiful?"

"Of course"

"Then I don't mind" he laughed it off and picked up another box.

I grabbed the box with the majority of my clothes and music stuff in. Wow it was heavy, there's not even a wardrobes worth of clothes here. My knees buckled together and like the typical klutz I am, I hit the floor.

I laughed and stabilised before I attempted to stand up. Almost like Jaden was psychic he walked out the door holding a bag of ice cubes in his hand. He paused before kneeling down to help me up and laughed.

"So typical" he whispered under his breath.

"I'm fine"

"At least let me help you up" he insisted. He swung his arm out gesturing me to take it but he stopped too late and slapped my cheek a little. I couldn't hold it in I burst into laughter, barely able to breath. I finally had calmed down and Jaden was just looking at me.

"I am...SO SO SORRY!" A roar of laughter came to my throat as I laughed at his unneeded apology.

"I'm alr-" his arms were suddenly around me grasping me into a cradling position in his strong warm arms. His stare began to bore into my eyes, almost like my soul had been possessed, in a good way. I smiled back in response to his dark brown gaze. He stroked my hair and half smiled. He was about to lean in, I froze.

"Hey guys!" Willow and Mateos voice boomed from behind us. I jumped a little and I guess Jaden could tell as he pulled me in closer to his chest. He exhaled heavily and looked at me.

"How's your ankle?" He asked me. I was still frozen and frightened.

"Okay then, lets see" he carried me to the bonnet of the car and sat me down and began observing my ankle like there was a type of disease growing on it.

Willow and Mateo now got closer, Mateo had his arm hanging on Willows shoulder, they were both laughing and looked so relaxed.

"What did she do this time!?" Mateo joked.

"Well" as Jaden looked up at Mateo to see that his arm was around Willow. "Dude! Really?" He wasn't angry he was just joking around. Willow left Mateo and walked around Jaden to talk to me.

"Hey girly" she opened.

I laughed "hey" I said back regretting how boring and plain it was.

"Right lets get you inside!" Jaden lifted me into his arms again.

"You need any help?" Mateo and willow both offered.

"Willow could you bring the ice cubes in put them back and turn on the A/C. Mateo can you bring in the box the klutz tried to carry?" He looked at me and stifled a laugh.

"Bossy" Williw said under breath looking at me. I laughed and then went serious.

"You haven't even let me try and walk to the door" I insisted, hinting that I wanted to walk in.

"That's because you won't walk to the door you'll walk into the door and hurt yourself more"

"Goodness I know I'm a klutz but I'm not dumb" I wriggled out of his grasp and put one foot on the floor. OH MY GOD IT'S KILLING ME! I can't let him know though.
