Chapter 4

"Soph, can you hear me?" Jaden said, I was lying down looking at the ceiling

"Dad, she opened her eyes!"

Will came in and kneeled next to me.

"Okay, hi Sophia, if you can hear me, look slightly to your left"

I glanced to my left but it hurt I shut my eyes tight and felt tears roll down my cheeks.

"Jaden, I'm gonna ring the doctor, keep talking to her" Will walked off.

"Sophia, I'm so sorry" Jaden said, I then felt something warm on my cheek, did he just kiss my cheek!?

"Thanks doc!" Will came back.

"Jaden are Sophia's hands cold?"

"Yes why?"

"Doctor said that if they are cold she should wake soon, he advised to rub her hands to get them warmer quicker"

"Okay!" I felt my hands coming back, I attempted to smile

"Dad, I think she is smiling" Jaden said.

"Okay, that's good son! So would you like to tell me what happened?" Will suggested and insisted in a calm tone

"This pizza kid, was calling her fat, Soph ran away crying, I was confused, then worse of all once she left, he goes to me that must be hard to wake up to in the morning, Soph has done nothing but be nice to us since she got here, she cleaned up after 6 of us after lunch on her own!"

"Okay son, as long as your standing up for what's right!"

"Dad her hands are warm and moving" there was a tone of excitement in his voice.

"Let me ring the doctor back"

"Okay, so good news the doctor said that she should be awake and well by morning but someone should stay with her over night so I'm gonna go get Willow" Will said, this was good news for me, I squeezed my hand as Jaden still had his hand in mine.

"Wait dad!"

"Yup"

"I'll look after Soph! I'll carry her to my bedroom and she can sleep there and I'll sleep on the floor! Don't forget Willow is going out tomorrow early as well"

"I don't know Jaden"

"Please"

Will took a deep breath, "fine but you sleep on the floor, I'll be checking" Will warned Jaden

"Okay, shall we go to bed now?"

"Yeah, do you want me to help"

"Nope I got it"

I was lifted off the sofa, I started to shiver I felt goosebumps. As Jaden walked me up the stairs my head rolled into his chest, he was warm I attempted to get closer.

"Okay" Jaden spoke to himself.

"Willow" Jaden called

"Yup"

"Could you help me?"

"Do what?"

"Help me get Soph under the covers"

"Oh okay...does dad know she's sleeping in your room?"

"Yes"

"Oh"

"Night Willow and thanks"

"That's alright night"

Throughout the night I could feel parts of my body un numb itself, I was hoping that was good, I had to keep waking during the night though as my body kept tingling but I tried not to wake Jaden. He was lying on the floor bless him. I felt like I was back in control of my body I sat up and turned my neck to look at the time.
